Look up stuff by David Grisman or Andy Statman.

    Norman Blake.

Very good and mostly instrimental. I've picked up a couple of his records used and they all have been good so far.

Del McCoury and Yonder Mountain String Band are both great. I'm in agreement with both of those. Another good band that's similar to YMSB is Railroad Earth. Only heard a couple songs/sets by those two, really, but I definitely want to hear more.

Dude, **** yourself. AKAUS is WICKED! If you say that Tyminski, Block and Douglas aren't the best guitar trio around, there's something seriously wrong with you. And Krauss can SING! And play to beat all hell. (And she's pretty hot)

Dave Grisman's great. I've known him for a while thru my aunt, who's in on the bluegrass scene. But for good music, I dig Nickelcreek, or John Reischman and the JayBirds (my uncles in that band)

I took mandolin lessons from John. Nickelcreek's too pop-musicesque for me these days.

Having grown up around 2 members of the west coast bluegrass scene, I have made a conclusion. On the west coast, there are about 30 musicians and 9,000 bands. They're all combinations of the same 30 or so people. For example my uncle is in 4 different bluegreass bands, my aunt in 3. So when we go see a bluegrass act, I recognize all the members from other bands.
