Clarification: copyright infringement is not "stealing". I'm not saying it's "right" to do, but don't fall for the music industry's attempt at equating it to theft.
When one steals something, they take something and then the person who owned it no longer has it to use themselves. Be it a toyota or some jeans.
When one copies a digital representation of some music, the original owner of it still has it. This is why downloading music is not a criminal offense - it's just a civil one for which you can be sued.

Yeah Its ridiculous to think we are all criminals for crap like that. Music publishers suing kids??
If the music publishers disappeared because of this, then maybe we would get REAL music again, instead of this marketed junk.
the best music is unsigned anyway, still.
you know it comes from the heart and has meaning when kids are selling CDs just to buy gas and food and still kickin jams. that's the beauty of music.
