I just ordered RZA's Digi Snacks, GZA's Protools and Cappodonna's Cappatilize Project. Has anyone heard them yet? I thought 8 Diagrams was ok, but I really liked Made In Brooklyn and Big Doe Rehab, so I am hoping that these new albums are also really good. I am also looking forward to the Achozen album, does anyone know when it is going to be released, there are some articles indicating it was supposed to be released last friday (8/8/0 on ursessions.com but I don't see it on the site and there is no indication of a new date.
I received the albums so I thought I would post a quick review
Rza as Bobby Digital - Digi Snacks
I like this album and I have the feeling it will grow on me. Rza seems to use the Bobby Digital persona to create more experimental music than he makes with the Wu, this album has a similar feel to the other two albums, but more laid back The beats are great, which is to be expected from Rza.
Gza - Pro Tools
Gza is a great rapper, this album is solid from beginning to end. It probably doesn't have any instant classics like Shadowboxin' and 4th Chamber (from Liquid Swords), but 0% Finance is close in my opinion. It is great track, like Triumph (from Wu-tang Forever) it has no chorus just 4:20 of Gza dropping knowledge. It is somewhat disappointing that only Rza and Masta Killa contributed to this album, on the upside most of the album is produced by Wu guys (Rza, Mathematics, Dreddy Kruger etc) so it has that awesome Wu sound.
Cappadonna - The Cappatalize Project
This album is somewhat disappointing compared to the other two, no other Wu members contributed, no Rza beats. It isn't bad, it just is not that exciting.
New Wu-tang solo albums
