I'm almost afraid to ask, but....does anybody else out there play the accordion?
I just picked up two today with the intention of learning a weird instrument I hadn't thought of before, and I'm pretty stoked on them! One's a 24 key Excelsior, and the other is a 16 key Hohner...which means next to nothing to me, but it might to someone who actually knows ####! I got the pair for a hundred bucks used, so I'm not complaining...

Hohners are quality intsruments.
A band called Dignan ( MySpace.com - Dignan (On Tour) - McAllen, Texas - Indie / Rock - www.myspace.com/dignan ) played down here and I talked about accordions with their accordion players (whew, though that would sound gay.)
but seriously, where'd you get the $700+ dollars for the accordions, and why did you not spend it on longboarding gear.

Played a traditional big boy european accordion when I was younger.
Still play synths and various key now, but am thinking about dredging out an old hohner accordion med size that's in storage.
Check out some cajun/zydeco music if you have a chance, that's what's peeking my interest in pulling the accordion out again.
If the bug bites a bit, may look into trying to find an acadian. Love Zachary Richard style.

I don't play the accordion, but I love cajun music. Here is a good source: http://www.floydsrecordshop.com/
I've only been to the store in Ville Platte, never ordered from them online.
i bought a really nice one (at least it looks nice to me, dont remember the brand off hand while here at work though) off of ebay a few years back, but the bass side doesnt work. its just airy sounding weather you have the keys pressed or not. the reeds may be bad or something. i still want to have it repaired and learn to play it. already got bagpipes down for the most part, and that was my next endeavor. too bad it didnt work out as planned.
