ApocolypticA - Cello Metal Anyone...

Any fans of Apo here? Yes - this is the band that did an album of metallica covers back in the 90's. They have about 7 releases since then of original material.

If you do not know of them - they play Heavy Metal on Cellos. They have completly invented a new genre of music!

This band is perfect to listen to while longboarding. The "flow" of the music matches the "flow" of riding perfectly.

I am going to see them live at the end of the month. I have been waiting at least 5 years to see them - I am PUMPED!!!!

They are finally breaking through here in the states. You may have heard "I'm Not Jesus" (feat. Corey Taylor from Slipknot) or "I Don't Care" featuring Adam from Three Days Grace. Mainly on Hard Rock radio stations.

If anyone has seen them live before - please post how the concert experience was... and I implore all longboarders with an open mind towards differnt music to check them out. Search YouTube or hit up their respective websites.

Never even heard of them before, but I looked them up on youtube and they are pretty sweet.

It cracks me up because I can just imagine them walking into a nice classy music store and saying "Give me the most metal cello you have" in Metalocalypse voices.

But I like them, pretty original.

I checked them out on youtube and they seem pretty good. I still like Rasputina for cello rock though.

I've known about them for several years now.... really good stuff. They have a darker twist on classical which I like. I'm not a fan of the light, bouncy, "let's all dance around in circles" classical.

I can't get past the fact that they just sit there. They need to lose the chairs and get some straps for those cellos so they can mosh around.
