I stay up all night a lot (design student)... So when I get frazzed at about 430, 5am, this goes on...
A lot of these artists (Petracovich, Funki Porcini, Elliot Smith, George Winston, Kim Hiorthøy) are totally chill throughout a good deal of their discographies... Some are from artists who tend to be a little more... Loud and usettling (APHEX)

any song by explosions in the sky are really good
im the kinda guy who doesn't like lyrics in there music
but yea try those sure will wake you up in a good way.

My number one song for waking up on a sunday morning looking out the window in the winter seeing fresh snow and knowing Im about to head out snowboarding and its going to be a sick day.

Same goes for the summer and longboarding

Sorry Peter, I have to say I can not stand Ani; and this may be shallow, but it's strictly because of the armpit hair thing! It drives me insane when a chick has pit hair - Eeeew!

But definitely Sigur Ros. That's a good choice.
