Wikipedia labels Disturbed as 'rock'. I won't lie, I got a copy of The Sickness when it came out. It looked promising. Some tracks were tolerable but overall the album lacked. What I can't say, but every album since then seems to be lacking it more and more. Which is really a shame because I think the name isn't that bad, and I love "The Guy" and the animation by Todd McFarlane. They just aren't great though. I heard somewhere the new album was going to be the heaviest ever, so I YouTube'd a couple songs and was sorely disappointed once again.
DevilDriver is still one of my favorite metal bands of all time. I have no idea how or why but it riles up something in me. Something that feels powerful and ancient. Bloodlust, maybe?
I skate because there's no Facespace, no Mybook, no Twatter, no eMail, no television, no commercials, no celebrities, no zillion dollar sports teams. No bulls--t whatsoever... It's just me, the pavement, one deck, two trucks, four bushings, four wheels, eight bearings, and some mounting hardware. My very own little race car, my own flight simulator, and it feels f--king great.
I freakin' Luv Devildriver! Soooo much better than his first band.
Was lucky enough to hand with them backstage in November of 05 I think at Marquee theater in Tempe, Az. Gave us Heinekens and all! Wish I would've had a camera besides my cell phone.
Haha. Looking at the metal head discussion threads always makes me laugh. Half of the people post opinions, the other half tell them that the music they listen to sucks. No one cares what you think of their music. Please go listen to your favorite "OMG THIZ IZ SO MUCH BETTER" music elsewhere.
To actually add to the topic;
I have been out of the metal loop for the past 8 months (Thanks United States Army!) but have found quite a few new(er) albums that I can't stop listening to.
Emmure - "Felony"
Burning the Masses - "Mind Control"
Devildriver - "Pray for Villans"
August Burns Red - "Constellations"
The Black Dahlia Murder - "Deflorate" (not as good as Nocturnal unfortunately)
Born of Osiris - "A Higher Place"
Job for a Cowboy - "Ruination"
Some albums that disappointed:
The new Dethklok album
New Austrian Death Machine
I personally HATED the new Gojira album, their old stuff is MUCH better (imo)
New Enter Shikari
New Winds of Plague (Great Stone Age or something)

This is indeed what happens when you praise the biggest wannabe metal band ever, inside of a metal thread. Although I think it would happen in any thread.
