anyone listen to atmosphere?

i love atmosphere. by far one of my favorite hip hop groups. and although i've listened to slug for quite a while now, only a few minutes ago did i decide to search him up on google images.
HE'S WHITE.


this may not come as a surprise to you. i need to stop thinking i can determine the color of one's skin by the sound of their voice. when i first got into aesop rock, i thought he was black. someone told me he was white. i was shocked. the same thing happened with el-p and cage.

anywho, he's white. and atmosphere is awesome.

is anyone else surprised by this information?

Atmosphere is good ####, dont like his new album as much as his old, felt, dynospectrum, or deep puddle dynamics, but the rest of his albums are quality.

Didnt really surprise me that he was white, (I think hes half black or something...) But it did surprise me when I found out Aesop was.

yes, slug is white. shits 2001 brah, sad clown bad dub pt.2 was dope, HEADSHOTS! was dope, overcast was decent, lucy ford killed it, thats about it.. the new music him and ant are making is awful, same with his clothing line, with the exception of "Sunshine."
Rhymesayers in general has gone down hill, signing shitty artists and making shitty music. anticon is suffering from the same symptoms, but their classics are wreckers.

you mean when life gives you lemons you paint that #### gold? i was disappointed with that album. a little bit too boring for me. i like overcast, god loves ugly and you can't imagine how much fun we're having. there's so much stuff he's done, though. slug must be a very productive man.

well, learning aesop was white was surprising to me, but not as shocking as when i heard cage and slug were white. especially cage. i've always listened to music and imagined what the artists look like, and then discovered they look nothing like what i imagined. it's a bit of a mindfuck.

Yeah, i cant say im much a fan of the newest album.. also a bit taken aback he went from being underground for so long then poppin up on the radio, MTV, Conan O'Brian, etc.. oh well.

Atmosphere is definitely some awesome stuff. Meh, he sounds like a semi-white rapper. The subjects and perspectives he takes kind of show that he was no steet child.

yeah, well his lyrical content doesn't suggest much about his race. i tend to assume rappers are black, but it turns out that most of my favorites are white.

god loves ugly is a great song and album.

i find a hard time choosing favorites, though. i've fallen in love with slug's style entirely. he uses metaphors that paint pictures in your mind, but they're not exactly cryptic. it's not difficult to relate to his poetry.

i think be and aesop rock are probably my favorite rappers, for similar reasons. but one of the differences between the two is that slug can sing. aesop can't, but the flat tone of his voice sounds like he's in a trance, which i realy enjoy listening to.
