Our weapons were our instruments made from timber and steel. We never yielded to conformity, but stood like kings in a chariot that's riding on a record wheel.

It was written before longboards were invented; but I've always thought the Pink Floyd song "The Gold It's In The..." might as well have been written about skating:
Come on, my friends,
Let's make for the hills.
They say there's gold but I'm looking for thrills.
You can get your hands on whatever we find,
'cause I'm only coming along for the ride.
Well, you go on your way and I'll go mine,
I don't care if we get there on time.
Everybody's searching for something, they say.
I'll get my kicks on the way.
Over the mountains, across the sea
Who knows what will be waiting for me?
I could sail forever to strange sounding names.
Faces of people and places don't change.
All I have to do is just close my eyes
To see the sea gulls wheeling in the far distant skies.
All I want to tell you, all I want to say
Is count me in on the journey.
Don't expect me to stay.
I was listening to my favorite band, the cat empire, earlier and I heard the line:
"and we'd sneak into a carpark
with the skaties on our back
and we're flying down the levels howling
'on the attack now on the attack' "
In the song chariot.
Any other longboarding references in songs?
Just listened to that song, good band.
This be a declaration
written about my friends
it's engraved into this song
so they know I'm not forgetting them
see maybe if the world contained
more people like these

more people like these
Possibly?
Yeah very good band.
Are you saying that that verse could also be about longboarding due to the social aspect of it?
So here we go again
Another time, but it feels the same
Got sick of waiting here Set sail on concrete waves
No survivors left to save
Too late for the walking dead
May or may not be a reference. Here's the song if you want to have a listen.
