    Default Post Maine Skate Runs!

I have started a map on Google maps for Mainers to post runs, or to find good spots others have ridden.

You can access the map best by logging in to google maps as skatemaine@live.com and using the password maineskate. Then click my maps.

You can add runs by clicking on the line tool and selecting the follow road function. After the line is drawn leave a description and color code the line to the difficulty of the run.

This could be a great way to answer those questions about good hills, if everyone posts a few runs this could be a great resource.

    Hey,

I am gonna be up in Skowhegan (Sp?) for a bout a week this summer, and was wondering if you knew of anything near by there. Possibly 40+ or really technical if at all possible

    Thanks

Don't people skate the road down Cadillac? Saw it in an Original video, I think. Looked incredible.

Yeah they do, I never have and dont want to post it without any info on the run, if anyone does they should post it.

Also I dont know about Skowhegan, the fastest and most technical run I could think of would be 1.5 hours North East at Sugarloaf. The West Mountain road is pretty fast check it out at: Maine Skate Runs - Google Maps

Also the West to Village run may not be as fast but it is more technical.

I just added a few runs. Actually quite a few. Most of them are OK at best, and pretty short, but a few are super fun and fast. I added all of the runs in the Yarmouth/Gray Area.

On saturday I took advantage of the break in the rain and went and skated Merril road in bath. That road is pure sex. I got up to 42 mph in a straight bomb.

Sorry I never saw you wanted me to post here from a few months ago.
A pretty cool run with a bunch of turns and pretty fresh pavement is up by shawnee peak in bridgton. It is a winter condo complex that runs up the mountain and is a great place to go slide around and get some real good speed.

Another is by my house is up Mount Agamenticus in York. This is really steep, but if you know what you're doing, I think you could have a lot of fun on this access road.

A personal favorite and is not very steep but a great little run is right down the road from me in North Berwick on Oak Woods Road. Its probably only a half a mile or a little bit more but a great little run to gain confidence.
