I'm New

Hi,

I guess I should start this out by saying I'm JukEboX. I am a gamer from CT. I am a hardcore computer guy but during the winter I like to get out to OKemo and board a bit. I taught myself to snow board and I really have been missing out on boarding lately. I was on Youtube one night and saw a video by Original Skateboards about long boarding. Needless to say the itch in me for boarding is coming back. I really was never to good on a skateboard but I can hold my own on a snowboard. Been doing some thinking and I want to give longboarding a shot.

Found a cool board I am looking to try.

I dont' have a job atm so I can't buy it but I hope to get something going soon. Main question is can you guys give me some pointers? Anywhere to start? Anything? If I can teach myself to snowboard then I think I could give longboarding a shot.

Oh really where? I am on the bad side of town so I would probably take my board to the farmington canal road. ITs the closest and most open area.

Yeah the canal is the closest, cleanest, and safest place so far since they re did it. I will be on it tomorrow with my razor scooter for a while.

I highly recommend you check out this board:

Surf Rodz :: Snow

The Thresher by SurfRodz is pretty much a snowboard on wheels. It is what I am currently riding, and it is super carvy and a blast to ride. It would be a great board for you to get usd to skating on.

This is a CT company through and through. Wayne designs the boards in West Haven, and they are manufactured in Meriden. The plates are molded in Seymour.

I love to ride the Farmngton Trail. I park in Cheshire and ride towards Hamden. Let me know if you wanna try this board out sometime. I may be going to the trail next weekend (19th or 20th). I can ride my Landy and you can bomb the Thresher.

For sure try to hook up with the gang from Hamden. Most everybody has extra boards they can share.

I know Wayne from S_Z has blasted the parking lot to the Q U ice rink. Heard it is new and a nice hill going into the lot.

Look for posts here in the New Englan forum. There are many gatherings throughout the state. Pop in on the threads and see what ones you might want to go to.

Thanks for your support dude that would be cool. I am getting ready for a cruise with my family soon so I may not be around then but I would love to try it out. I haven been on a skateboard in like 15 years so hopefully my snowboard experience might kick in. I don't do tricks or nothing but I probably will do my normal past time of falling down alot

P.S. The QU ice rink road is very very steep as well as very sharp turn. its also very busy now because of school being in session as well as security department can be a pain. I would know I was at school there for 6 years as well as working here for 7.
