I will help out anyway I can since ill have some time on my hands
ill be spending the next couple days on gmaps peodmeter lol
That would be awesome if it was part of a New England circuit of races
I'm guessing people wanna start out of the city and head downtown? towards the commons that way theres a place to kind of hang around after?
Also access to the T is probably important also so try to keep the start/finish near a T stop?

ya the T station idea is a good one so the riders can just grab a T pass and ride it back to the beginning of the race after chilling for a bit..
I skate because there's no Facespace, no Mybook, no Twatter, no eMail, no television, no commercials, no celebrities, no zillion dollar sports teams. No bulls--t whatsoever... It's just me, the pavement, one deck, two trucks, four bushings, four wheels, eight bearings, and some mounting hardware. My very own little race car, my own flight simulator, and it feels f--king great.

Having a place to hang out, shoot some shyt, and possibly barbecue or something would be great at the end. If there aren't too many people, it wouldn't be a problem to take the T to said place, but if this grows it would have to be in close skating or walking distance

    Boston Bomb(good idea)..

If you're going for that "culture ride" big as possible event, that's also a race.. you probably want to avoid any steep/fast hills in the route.. I like the mass ave idea.. but for example coming south across the bridge from Cambridge to Boston is a fast hill that lets out into stopped traffic and lots of unpredictable slow moving cars...

Boylston is a pretty nice, wide, one way road (but also kind of on the fast side) that goes through Copley Square and brings you to the common. (Touristy as possible for the whole route is def the way to go).

Also I wouldn't worry about making it too short.. The Broadway Bomb was insanely exhausting.. (though most people skated the extra 3 miles to get back to the bbq)..
End the ride at a nice freeride/slide hill that a lot of people can get away with skating at for a while.. and people will appreciate a shorter route even more.

I say something around 4-6 miles is ideal, especially cause Boston is smaller than NYC. We do have to keep it pretty flat, and you don't want a hard to follow course, or something too dangerous.
    Basically what Kraffft said

id be down with a 3 mile sprint or a 5 mile push dont let broadway set the standards for other races different places bway bomb is its own unique race that accommodates the conditions and traffic of the city, bostons traffic conditions are completely different posssibly more dangerous cause of those masshole drivers and the taxi's give less a funk about you than nyc taxi's thats for sure

I've been doing a "boston bomb" on a smaller scale for 2 years now I guess... skate out of wentworth (back bay... home to one of the best places to skate in boston, mission hill, and quickly becoming a massive skate spot... ####, i remember when i only knew 2 other longboarders in this damn city) and skate to the north end in a zig-zag manner... down huntington, cross to newbury, through the commons.. it's a fun skate
starting out at the arboretum would be nice too, adds another 2+ miles

oh and here it's always been called the "boston crosstown hash bomb" because of why it started... har

i guess i should try to map my route and give it to all y'all? i guess it's a couple of miles... i know the city better than i know myself sometimes...

yea anyone who has a route feel free to post it
and if you don't already know it heres a cool site to calculate it on, Im not exactly sure how to share the route I think you save it and it gives you a URL to link to
I have also heard mission hill is a pretty big skate spot, I know it was featured in some Original Skateboards video or something

A Boston bomb would be awesome, but a New Haven Bomb would be righteous jams.

Ok guys, I'll likely be in Boston Nov 20-24th... I'd be getting there on the 20th, and leaving on the 24th, so I'd have three full days there. This isn't definite yet, but I'm talking with my brother about it. I'll get back to you on if we'll be skating. (weather permitting)

I know, Global Warming is a b*tch. Hopefully we'll get a little more skating in before it's time to hit the slopes.

You guys don't skate whenever the roads are dry? Since when has a little cold stopped anyone?
I skate all winter long, cause if you don't keep skating you get out of practice, and I can't have that happen when the races start in spring!

Ps, don't know if I mentioned, my brother lives on Mission Hill, so thats where I'll be

Too much SNOW! And except for the main roads, the town doesn't even plow residential streets. I'd be better off taking a snowboard to my closest dh than with my longboard.
