Post Boston Bomb(idea)

So I'm sure I'm not the first person to think of this and its just an idea so hate it or love it i could care less just want to hear some commentary on the idea.

So the Broadway Bomb is a pretty big event and I know it would be hard to replicate a race of such awesomeness but i think it would be interesting to do a similar race in Boston, Not saying its easy to start something like this but if you look at the Broadway bomb they started with 17 boarders in the first race, shouldn't be too hard should it?
I was thinking a race along Beacon street/Comm Ave? obviously a lot shorter than the 8 miles in NYC.
Like i said its just an idea trash it or promote it i don't care if enough people wanna maybe we could actually organize it

Freedom trail goes up, down, rough roads, regular Boston streets... sounds like some awesome longboard enduro, BUT you'd need to make sure people didn't cheat and go off course

Freedom Trail sounded like a good idea but also a pain in the ass to go up bunker hill cross the river then go up beacon hill
a race along the charler on that bike trail would be cool but then its not outlaw 8)

My brother lives in Boston, I'm going to be visiting him sometime and we are planning a day-long skate around the city. I'm thinking of heading up there for school so it'll be nice to get to know the city a bit.
When I eventually go I'll keep a look out for possible locations

Great idea. I grew up in Brookline, and I'd definitely come up for a race.

The Beacon/Comm Ave. idea seems like a natural, but unless you start way out in Newton or wherever its going to be like a sprint. Cleveland Circle to the Commons for a shorter race? Or Washington Street, from West Roxbury to City Hall? A north/south route could be long without leaving the city.

Re Freedom Trail: I agree that people would get confused with all the twists and turns. Skaters get lost trying to follow Broadway--sometimes really lots--and it's basically a straight line.

I don't know if this would work but, in Saugus/Wakefield there's a place called Breakheart Reservation. It has a nice paved road that's 3 miles long of (for the most part) downhill and it's not open to cars so if there was a race there, they'd only have to keep runners/bikers out while the race is going on. I know it's pretty short but it seems like it could be a nice place. If you've never been there before, check it out, just watch out because this time of year there's lots of pine needles and acorns on the path.

The idea is more for a push race through the city... the point is that there ARE cars and pedestrians and things, it adds to the challenge. Also, 3 miles is a bit to short for a push race, I say it should be at least 5mi, the Broadway Bomb is 8.2mi

That does sound like a nice potential location for a mild DH race though, post up some videos or pictures if you can

If I get the chance I will but, since I ride Original I carve down the hills or do slides on them so it wouldn't really give the right view. From riding it though I can tell it could possibly work out for a short DH race.
