This June 14th Slalomspot.com, NorthEast Cabana Flow and OceanFrog skate shop are putting on the first Boston Cone Dodge, a slalom and longboard race outside of downtown Boston. http://www.ncdsa.com/contest_registr...?ContestID=367
The Needham High School Longboard Club and New England Grass Roots Slalom has been using this Soapbox derby hill for a year now and it is perfect for Slalom Skateboard Racing. The hill was repaved in 2006 and is part of the Middlesex Fells Reservation in Medford/ Stoneham Massachussetts. The hill is right next to the Sheepfold Meadows parking lot, off of route 28.
Directions: aHaB - Middlesex Fells sheepfold directions
There will be two events on one day, first off will be the dual hybrid slalom. Gates will range from 6-8 feet. The top of the hill is very steep so it will be a box start. Traditional Bracket of 16 racers. B and C brackets will be added as neccessary.
After the head to head slalom there will be a single lane Giant Slalom. We will have two divisions longboard slalom 38 inches and above and slalom board GS shorter than that. 4 foot tall Cabana ramp start.
This is an outlaw event, meaning we don't have express permission to be in the park and remember SKATE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Helmets Required, pads reccomended. Also remember Parking is always very hard to get in the parking lot. Pack light because we have to park outside and walk a little ways into the park. Any questions please pm me.
Look forward to skating with you guys!!
