One of the Fox 61 producers saw a whole group of Long Boarders in New Haven for Greenskate(earth-day) and figured out that SZ sent them media about it....

Anyway, they have contacted me and they are thinking about a few features about the growing movement. I pitched out the whole DH end of it, along with the growing over-all longboarding part of it. They want to pursue this and will be contacting SZ/me this week.

I need your involvement and lets figure out a outlaw session for them if they decide on a feature story....it would be a great way to showcase the talent here in the surrounding areas and the strength of it....it will also open up some opportunities to talk to the surrounding city economy development offices about events. I have interest from New Haven and the Mayor's office called me about the Greenskate event and apologize for the Mayor not showing up.

I also pitched Fox 61 the CT "FARM" event.......... There's much interest out there.

Wheelabrator is pretty much the only consistant outlaw even it it's not an event there are a lot of people who like to skate there...given enough lead time people will come from a least 3 states...remember the Block Island Bomb too.

Super awesome - I am so down. Wheelabrator for sure. I personally would LOVE to do a stint at the Parking garage in Waterbury. It is perfect, and usually always empty. I think the Farmington trail and some pumping action would be great.

As for the Farm - please let Joe I. know about this. I am not sure he wants huge amounts of exposure. I may be wrong - be please check with him (If you haven't already).

YESSSSSSSSSSSS, that was an awesome day too, so many riders around here, and who knows maybe law enforcement will lighten up around here on us if they see what we are instead of the stereotype..

Here's the deal.....
Fox news contacted me about a Surf-Rodz/Connecticut manufacturing story...plain and simple.

I suggested that they do a 3 part series on longboarding....one about the growing movement (Wheelabrator, etc) one about SZ and one on the FARM EVENT in August.

They will do my story.
I gave them Joe's (FARM event) info, dates etc... they seemed very interested in that story also.

BUT NONE OF YOU GUYS CALLED ME SO I COULD PUT YOU IN TOUCH WITH THE PRODUCER.

I'm not sure what they want to do...but it's a CT news program and it's up to them.

If you guys would have contacted me as i asked for some support i could have had you speak with them and you could have helped me convince them to do a series of short news stories. It would have been a great idea.

All i can do is try to make it happen....but if you want a wheelabrator story you could have gotten involved when i posted the news....

So call me and all i can do put you in touch with them as i don't know who handles Wheelabrator.

I just really want to use any excuse to skate with everyone again. So someone make a date and tell me a place. Or if you want to do some street skating and some nasty ass hills come here.

Quite the oppisite. He wasn't pissed that we held a compatition there. He was pissed that we didn't notify him or PAY the town. He would be more than happy to get his town on T.V.

As long as we notify him. I'm going to be putting something in the works Sept. Oct. are epic months for WHEELABRATOR!!

I saw the story on Fox last night, WOW!! It was totally positive, and cast a wonderful light on the "grassroots sport" of longboarding. Great job guys, way to represent! It will be a great boost to the CT scene,

And Wayne, I'm still gonna call you about helping with the custom risers. I had some yard work snowball on me and have had to spend my evenings wheeling dirt around.

Excellent show!! I'm sure The Minds of the circle can create something fun for us to accomplish. I've got weeks worth of hills ripe for the bombing only ten mins from my house.

Is there a date set for the next one? East rock would be good but I don't think its worth risking the spot, who knows maybe it would help.

I think East Rock is only bomable when it is closed (winter months). I think the you tube insert was East Rock.

Wheelabrator would rock - I would also love footage of the Waterbury Garage and the Farmington trail. Perhaps that Garage off the trail (if a news crew can get to it!). It would be nice to incorporate downhill, street surfing, pumping, slalom all in one. We'll have to work together to make it happen.

Great job on this Wayne - this is superb!!!
