CANDYSPANKS NEW NAME! (Yes its True!) RIP:Candyspanks
For everyone in New England who owns a Candyspank I wouldn't throw it out just yet! I was recently on Facebook on Rus's Facebook page looking at his longboarding pictures and saw an album called New Shop! I clicked on it curious. What I saw was boards with the same candyspank design but with a really different logo and name! Is the end coming soon? I recently asked a friend who knows Rus and he says it will be pretty soon that the candyspanks company name will be droped for a new name. I couldn't tell you the new name because I was then kicked off Rus's friends list on Facebook after a few minutes withen entering that album. So keep your boards and ride them proud that you actually got one before they changed the name!

yea same well I doubt rus is gonna change his mind. Im just glad I can say " I have a Candyspanks!" Just to be apart of something that is a HUGE thing in the small town of bristol is cool. One of my friends said just yesterday i want a candyspanks. Told him today you better make some money fast before they sell out for good.
I totally agree. They will be good. I just hope its the best thing for the company and my wallet(freshman in high school can only make so much!) That brings up the question: "How much will these things flippen cost!?" I have a feeling their gonna be a little bit more then the boards now espescially if they have all new bells and whistles. But anyway my friends been telling me " o now the candyspanks boards will be worth alot!" I told him i doubt it. If Candyspanks I mean Clutch are alot better quality wise our boards arent worth crap! The only things its worthy of is a spot mounted on my wall with a plaque that says "A Failed Success" That brings up something I thought of last night. With the new boards coming out soon will candyspanks be forgotten? I thought to myself a way to put this : In a few years Candyspanks will be whats most movie gurus call a "Cult Classic", Only a minority of people actually give a damn about the boards. Also anyone else feel that with the new name Rus is gonna start selling them online? It sounds like hes going for a more modern name that would sell.

Yes, Candy Spanks is taking a Hiatus… for two reasons:
1. Lot’s of stores wouldn’t carry my boards because of the name… (don’t ask me why). In principal, they can bite me but, in the real world I have to eat & people can’t ride what they can’t find.
2. Also, changed the name because, I was bored with it. I make ‘em, I go through all the BS a small builder suffers and I can call ‘em whatever I please You can’t please everyone all the time, just try to build the best hand crafted boards I can while still keep’n competitive on the retail level… a near impossible task.
As for a played out adjective… Well, like I said you can’t please everyone…it’s also a noun & a verb… & Cranks you make some fine boards yerself so, I doubt you would be part of my audience anyway.
And to “C4NDYSP4NKS”, send me a pm, that user ID deserves a free t-shirt or something…
Candy Spanks was never meant to end up in stores, or the internet or anything, I never pushed ‘em on the fish, just love building ‘em and it got out of control. Yes, Clutch will be for sale online soon. Doubt old Candy Spanks boards will be worth anything to anyone accept the few of you guys who own them, and care about them… Plus if I see ya riding one, I might buy ya a beer.
The first batch of Clutch boards is ready as of last night and 80% sold already, the next batch of 20 will be ready early next week and so on… Yes, there are some Candy Spanks boards left… Going to be collecting them from the stores and I may have an auction & party to get rid of them…
Also, Clutch isn’t the only new name…

Thanks to everyone who has supported me over the years by buying boards, helping out in the shop, and mostly to the folks I ride with. The story ain’t over so, don’t spent a lot of money on that sign that says “Failed Success” just yet.
