I know this slightly out of the Connecticut area, but early august their is a "Jersey Jumpoff: Summer Madness Jam" it's happening in North Jersey, more or less right across the river from Manhattan... The Jersey Jumpoff; The Annual Summer Madness Jam!!

I don't know if that helps, there should be a lot of boarders there... talk to Ad smooth about it though.

I think we should organize a Wheelabrator Jam in August and have that filmed. Nothing more showcasing than that.

Would love to bomb the Garage in Waterbury too - and at least maybe provide some footage. Wheelabrator seems ideal.

We gotta move on this, or its going to slip between our fingers - remember - Wheelabrator is for Sundays only...

we need to actually get things together if we wanna do that, if wheelabrator is what you guys wanna do lets get planning. Im down to do it as long as theres enough warning for me. I know someone said that wheelabrator seems "too slow" so if theres another spot, someone from around there pick it. I know you guys have plenty of spots so say the spot say the day and well get it started, i say august 10th would be good if we wanna do wheelabrator. Dont be indecisive about this guys i wanna get some good exposure for us.

Well given under reading a point pressed by Joe and Nick:

What spot do we want to maybe lose?

If Fox discloses the information on the location we are skating we could be hit.

Is there a way around this? Can we tell the news not to say locations?

I posted this in the CT thread also.....

This seems sad....stop worrying about spots being blown out, and speed of the hill etc.

If you guys want to stay independent thats great...there's no problem ditching this story.
I'm sure we can protect your skating spots....

I'm working on a cuban skateboarding story and i'm going to Iraq to feature a longboarding story etc....Just got back from filming a freestyle skate park story and I seem to get more support from the outside freestyle skaters than the local longboarders.

You might wonder why surfing and snowboarding events get great sponsorship and prize money....they grow a sport , not hide it.

Do what you want....if you want a story, you know how to contact me. If all you want to do is post on the silverfish forum and get nothing done feel free to do it.

It's up to you not me....fox news is down with it.

All i tried to do is pitch a story....

I don't think we need a massively large group of people. I don't think we need to worry about "blowing up spots." To showcase downhill to the general public through Fox61, we need good footage and quality explanations/interviews describing what it is we do. I, personally, want to showcase how easy it is to ride SAFELY down steeps and through corners that most people would deem quite dangerous. To be honest these kinds of spots aren't very abundant in our area nor do they lend themselves to large groups.

A big Wheelabrator session would be great to show the growing scene and how many different kinds of people enjoy skating. To showcase downhill skateboarding, speed, sliding through corners and speed control... well, it's kind of a different thing. Wayne - I'm only in the area for about 3 more weeks, I'm pretty much free whenever to meet up with a camera crew and show 'em what I do.

My longboarding opinion certainly doesn't count considering that I am now a gimp for a year, but here goes.

How about you guys just ride some spots that have already been compromised? I feel you guys. Sucks to have a spot compromised, but until we get visibility and people actually understand what we are doing our spots will continue to get compromised. But if we ride a road that is already compromised then nothing can really happen since the deed has already been done. We might even get lucky and find that people don't have so much of a problem with it anymore. Even with visibility though some peoples minds will never be swayed. You just need to laugh in the face of ignorance and continue onwards with pride no matter what the consequences.

I would like to get down in this operation, but in the wounded soldier kinda of way. Don't really know what that would entail; maybe moral support? I am very organized and an engineer so I most certainly can be of some use. But please don't let this opportunity slip away.

i think wheelabrator would be the best option because it can support a bunch of people and there is no need for a road closing permit. but if a road that is faster/more technical could be closed it would be fine also. we need to show how many people actually ride

What part of CT will this be in? and i couldnt really do any hills that are in the 50s, so should there be a section about freeriding?

I'm not giving direction because I'm not sure if rob cares. That's a 40able road that showcases braking sliding tucking drafting scenery topspeed and is accessible by all age groups. It's already blown... do it

august 10th wheelabrator. lets do it and stop dicking around with "maybe this maybe that if that doesnt blah blah blah" if theres a few others that agree it should be done lets do it.
