Re: boarders in N. westchester
[quote=mistergwinge;1297634387
ill be around for the rest of the summer so hit me up and lets skate! i have a car, so if you are close and know of a good hill for us to ride, i can drive us.
some other roads to consider are perkins drive (closes for cars in winter season and is a pretty fast 2 mile long road with good pavement, too many cars in the summer tho)
the roads down to and around the garrison train station are fun.
lower station road is a <25 mph nice carver and upper station road is a steep ass road and u'd probably hit 45 mph on it if you bombed it.
there are some nice hills in cold spring, and surrounding areas.
i dont really care what kind of hills we hit, i just wanna hit hills and roll with another longboarder for once.
btw, im down for skating tonight if you see this![/quote]
hell ****ing yeah.
oh and i have a spair set of 81a gumballs that you guys can use. i have a spair set of sliding gloves but they're horrible becuase theyre the first set i ever made

Re: boarders in N. westchester
the school is okay. the runs can be pretty fast 20 to 30mph and there are a few different hills.
up top there are a couple of hills. one leads to a roundabout which could be fun for practicing cornering.
one connects to another street which can double the ride length.
the other is the 'long' run ends in a parking lot which used to be good, but there is now mad construction stuff in the way (dumpsters, etc) and there is lots of loose debris.
also, they added more speedbumps, couple of which are hard to get around.
there are a couple flatter areas which are fun for dancing and stuff, but you can do that anywhere.
basically, there are a 3 main hills u can hit, and they are all relatively small (except the one that connects to the other road). so its fun to mess around on with friends. i actually met a kid randomly there riding an original board w original trucks and got to ride it for a little bit. apparently the town is now full of longboarders (although i havent seen much evidence of it)
if you are looking for a long ride, this aint the place. it is a fun little area with no cars and a few options. also if you are into shortboarding there is a small stair set and a couple places to grind too

Re: boarders in N. westchester
nah shortboarding isnt for me. but id love to go hit that school up. but ive seen some longboarders while im in the car and stuff and its definetly getting more popular. i think of this as a good and bad thing. i liked bein the only kid who londbaorded because it made me unique yea know and now that theyre more longboarders around that isnt the case anymore. but then that means people to skate with which i love skating with other people. its ten times more fun
