There's nothing but empty storefronts in Cold Spring these days (probably like 1/3 of the total in Main Street) and I keep thinking a longboard shop would look good in one.

    Until it died too.

    Malls are evil.

Malls are very evil... i was try'n to convince the bike shop owner in town to get a lil longboard stash, but it kept getting put off so i gave up. i miss all the shows that used to be around here.... i noticed that mainstreet in cold spring was losing alot of stores/ not filling the empty ones

Just got back from Zumiez in the Poughkeepsie Galleria. What an incredibly joyless experience.

I did get one of the kids there interested in the idea longboarding (and sent him to Silverfish) so who knows....

its not a skatepark its a state park, it has a few different hills. theres tiorati brook road its about a three mile run with speeds up and around 45 for me at least, it has some bends to it but nothing to drastic. it good for begginers to because there aren't many turns but you can control your speed on it quite well. Thats the only one i've ridden but other roads around there that look good are Arden House road looks like a complete beast but i dont think i can handle that. Arden Valley Road looks do able. just look up Tiorati Brook Road, Tuxedo, NY on google maps with terrain. All the roads im talkin about are around there.

That sounds good to me. I'd like to find a nice long run on a good road around here, but I don't have leathers or a fullface (and I don't always trust my slides at speed), so I don't really want to be going much over 40 anyway.

yeah thats why this road is good, if you push really hard and tuck you can go bout 45 but if you dont push at just carve it you'l only go about 30

    It wasn't me.

Stringtheory linked to it in the ECC thread. I thought it was the dumbest thing ever, so obviously had to sig it. Then it took on a life of its own when Kai got button happy.

i found a spot that might be intresting to session over in newburg.. its cronomer hill park right off 32 in the burg. the road is gated at the bottom and most of the time it closed over so there very little traffic on it. its a lil narrow but two cars can get through, its got some steep sections with a few turns that arent tight but could be fun to slide through...

i found a short hill in purchase (i realize thats prob. too far for any of you guys to hike down for) but its about 1/2 mile long and all though they were doing road work while i was there about half way through the hill from the bottom half i was just getting to 30 and i am sure if you did the whole thing you could break 40. no traffic, parts are a little narrow but more than wide enough for a massive shut down slide.

im gonna look for this place in newburg though sounds pretty sweet.

the new burg spot should be pretty good.... the road is in pretty good shape, its that smooth, yet got a texture road. i havent skated it yet, since there is a few tree branchs hanging into the road, but they look like they could be moved with out to much work. i might do that tomorrow and see if i cant get a run or two in as long as it stay nice out...

hit Indian hill road today. i couldn't do the steep section because there was a quick turn that my friend didn't feel comfortable doing, i myself wasn't sure i wanted to do it because there was a cliff so yeah we only did about half the hill. still it was really fun. the pavement was super smooth the run is about 3/4 of a mile (the part we did at least) and i think my top speed was 33mph. from the top of flintlock road you could more than likely hit 40. definitely a fun spot.
