Just skate around the main road, the best hills (in general) are in the northern part of Central park on the road. Skate with traffic and you will be ok.

can a beginner handle those hills in northern part?
Doc says no sports for at least 2 weeks. Plus, 4 of my 8 bearings rusted out, so I couldn't board even if my legs allowed me to. Good news is, by the time my knee gets better, I oughtta be getting 5 new sets of bearings in the mail!
Sorry man, hopefully another time this summer though! I'm real bummed out.

whats the best hill there me and my cuz always go there but cant find any good ones
There's a nice sweeper near the north end around 110th street on the east side of the park. Start around east 90th, go north and you'll hit it. Not too fast, but fun. Keep following the loop and you'll hit some faster runs. North=Hills in CP.
u should go early if u go 4 the first time on sat or sunday......and check if there is some race first.....
it is tourist and amateur central midday sat and sun- even little kids with their parents on bikes and worse-the pedicabs are terrible driversand unbelievable amount of people that r straight up hazards......and keep in mind that many people don't understand that skateboarders carve downhills- the general standard in the park is stay in your line- everyone has ipods and cell phones so no ears.
i would suggest u try 7:30 pm on thurs or friday....still light in july to see the terrain and a little less crowded.
there is a nice straight away where u can get comfortable on the east side and the west side has a downward slope but the theatre crowd might be crossing after a play ....
if u do go down the hill on the north end, u will need energy to go uphill.....and your on 110th street
wear a helmet and there r a couple of spots with rough roads and crosswalks where the people dont look b4 crossing.......
not sure if prospect park in brooklyn might be better 4 learning- i haven't been there in a while....if u are really just starting the middle of the park near the volley ball courts is a place where skaters roll around.
have fun- its like a video game once you ride like that and avoid and antipate hazards u will be riding well enough and ready 2 explore hills
