Re: Official Long Island skate sesh thread.
I am bored out of my mind right now. I'd love to go riding with some people this week or next.
EDIT - just skate to the PJ train then take it to Huntington, boom. :P

Re: Official Long Island skate sesh thread.
Yeah the train is the most likely option, its pretty cheap too, maybe I can get my mom to pay for it (low on funds after buying wheels and gloves, and want to get a cheap full-face if I can)
It might even be possible for me to get out there this weekend, or next week

Main Street and East Broadway (may be wrong on name) are both pretty long and steep. I spent a few hours down there today, the longer and faster stuff is mostly meat grinder pavement, covered in cars, or really hard to stop from. I'm not very good with speed, I'm still working my way up into the 20's (which is hard here) but hopefully my recent purchase of Gravity Drifters and Loaded gloves will help... I'd learn so much faster with someone to learn from. I'm not that good and don't want to sound like I am, but I do wanna get better
I don't own gloves. I just go for each hill I find and try to ride everything out - when it's possible, heh. Just gotta have confidence homie. :P

Re: Official Long Island skate sesh thread.
Stay out of Port Jeff, 50yds past the town line the town constable threatened to give my friend and I court summonses (that would result in a $150fine)
I hate the constables... so much
If anyone wants a full story or why I hate the constables and they are useless, PM me

Re: Official Long Island skate sesh thread.
I went out yesterday morning at 5am. Was fun as hell. Bombed a few hills and passed a speed trap that got me going 37mph...I think those are accurate? o.O
Early morning skating = win.

Re: Official Long Island skate sesh thread.
Nice, if you stay out of the main areas, or go really early it should be good. I don't have the balls to not foot-brake the hills down there though, most of them don't even have any run-offs
I have one hill I really want to work my way up to doing, its get a huge steep left hairpin right at the top, gets you to 20 or so by the ime you're done turning, would be sweet to push into it and drift it
Just keep in mind its illegal anywhere in town, on any property you do not own, and you could have to go to court and get fined for it.

Just figured I ought to give you the warning that the constables will do anything to meet quota

Haha. My buddies dad was a cop his whole life in Suffolk county and he never had a quota he needed to meet. That whole quota thing is a myth.

Re: Official Long Island skate sesh thread.
With constables, they're useless if they don't make money for the town (from fines)
My dad was NYPD for 21years, lucky I can deal with "the man"
(and I fight and shoot like a cop)

Re: Official Long Island skate sesh thread.
Hah, soon man, I'm gonna try for next weekend if I'm free, and you can. I'm often busy on weekends though. Need to check train prices, or ask for a ride out though, and saving my cash for a new deck, and for the bomb
I look forward to the learning
