Yo what up guys, I'm new to Rutgers as a transfer student and been skating for atleast 7 years now, even though only a regular board, but I love goin fast and downhill. I see that you guys are meetin up this friday, and I have that student transition class till 11:10 and then I'm free. Be awesome if you guys can show me some spots. And I work at a shop in South Jersey, so I've met the Original skateboard dealer, real nice dude. Well, I guess just let me know whats up!
And if any of you guys have facebook, I also made a Rutgers longboarding facebook group. I figured there are a good number of longboarders on campus who may not go on silverfish regularly but do check their facebooks. I already invited Kerns to it, any others are welcome to join.
I contacted the guys at Original about tomorrow and this is what they sent me:
"Not sure if anyone can make it this Friday- where exactly are you going to meet so I can spread the word if anyone can make it down.
Joel"
(I followed up with the address of Brower and my phone number in case they need to get in contact with one of us for directions.)
So it looks like they probably won't be able to make it (we did give them short notice). But it's good that we have some communication going with them, so when we do get a bit more organized with stuff, I'm sure they'll be willing to get involved.

As of now, the club constitution is in review. Officer roles are being figured out and the outlook is that there will be an official longboarding club at Rutgers for the spring semester. We will still be planning events and seshs unofficially till further notice. Just check out the facebook group or this forum for any updates.

Haha I'm almost positive that the kid that told us to get real skateboards lives in my building. There was an ice cream event going on and I saw him standing pretty close to me. I kept looking at him but he didn't even acknowledge me haha.
Anyway, yea the club is moving along great. Check out the Rutgers facebook link for more information. We have a formal constitution in writing and are now looking for a faculty adviser. Hopefully we will get our club application in to the student involvement office by the end of the month.
