Any going to Rutgers or near Rutgers that longboards? Besides myself and Delta, I know two others that just cruise. Would be nice to get some local sessions around New Brunswick/Piscataway area.

I board lol. I recently got and ride a krackedskulls M1, and usually ride around the Busch campus. Where do you guys normally go? I haven't been skating at Rutgers my others years here so I don't know of many good spots.
Seems like there's a lot more people that longboard at Rutgers this year. I saw some kid with an arbor board in the dining hall this morning and another skating a sector 9 on my way back to the dorm.
I was actually thinking of starting a longboarding club here at Rutgers. It would be a nice way to get some funding for an event and possibly some free food. I'm getting in contact with a guy from original skateboards (the co-founder of the company is a Rutgers alums) and I think he might be able to offer some discounts on boards for our members (if we do start up an organization).
Anyway, what do you guys think of the idea? It could be a nice way of getting involved with Rutgers while at the same time doing something we all love.

Some sort of organization would be awesome. I was actually just at the Original shop a week ago, had to get a king pin fixed. If we could get those guys to help us out and just promote skating around Rutgers, that would be awesome.

i'd be down for a skating club, it'd be an easy way to find people. me gusta. i'll skate down college ave mostly naked with a sign for it if we get it together before it gets cold.. lol
I think I'll be free on friday too, so let me know what's going on. Also, I have a couple of roommates who started a club last semester so I kind of know how the process works. It's actually not too hard to get something going. The only kind of tricky part would be finding a faculty adviser. Other than that, since there is no other longboarding club on campus, getting approved shouldn't be too difficult. I'll look more into it tonight.
And I'll let you guys know what original says once I hear back from them.
Wow, they responded really quickly. Here's what they sent me:
"We'd always be happy to help. I'm actually a RU alum '06. Rode my C35 to
class every day that it was nice out. There used to be a number of folks
who knew of and rode Originals when I was there- of course I told,
showed, demoed, and let everyone ride my board so I'm sure that helped.
Let us know what type of support your looking for- we'll do our best to
help out fellow NJ longboarders.
Joel"
Yea, we definitely have the resources here at Rutgers to get something going. And with the help of people like the guys at Original, I'm sure it would be awesome.
