A Hansen collecting dust - no way! At 9'4" that's just my size. I'll be glad to help you take the dust off in the ocean!

Seriously, come out with Bob and I'll help you get out there in anyway I can.

Sayreville Sunday - I'll most likely be able to make it and hopefully meet some of you guys and girls...

zogs - 2 things, the board... classic single fin 10 footer. perfect for our lovely NJ summer conditions. its in pretty decent condition, ill sell it for around 300, give or take.... let me know whats up.

and number two, those little plastic bead things that sensei was talking about and you said we have none of here in LBI.... those would be tiny bluefish eggs, and they were here like a month ago but are gone for the most part. the last storm pretty much cleaned em up.

ned - youre more than welcome to come down to LBI and film some surf sessions.

all the other pirates - still waitin for a date to set up the garage assault on AC, and/or another downhill session up north.

oh yeah, and as always......... YARRRRRRRRR!

Ahhh, when was the last time you were there? Because from what I heard, they got rid of the small bank but removed the benches from the large bank so now the whole thing is wide open. If if the large bank still has the benches there, most of it is still skateable. you can go around the benches too, if you got enough speed and the cojones.

I've never been there, but i will when my dad takes me into the city with him. i reasearched it and found that a path was put right around (circing) one of the banks. some of the others had benches infront of them.

Hey guys check this out- I just got this from freshpaved (if you haven't, I suggest signing up with them) There's a Surf Expo type thing in Ocean City starting tonight and going all weekend. Anybody wanna go with me tomorrow? I get out early at 1pm tomorrow, figured I could shoot down there in time to get some waves (right around low tide) and check this thing out.

Here's all the info:

Introduction

Surfing Artists International will hold its 5 th annual Art of Surfing Festival on the
boardwalk in Ocean City, New Jersey on August 18 # 20, 2005.
The festival celebrates the sport of surfing as a true art form, recognizing the
past, present and future influences of the surfing lifestyle. Noseride or aerial,
longboard or shortboard, Woody or Element, its all good!
Surfing art is becoming recognized all over the world. It is not only popular in the
surf world, but it is now making a major impact on the art world. There are not
only painters and photographers, but also writers, musicians, sculptors and film
directors that are currently being influenced by surfing.
The Art of Surfing Festival gives these artists a chance to show their talents and be a part of the
surf culture that we all love. Through the different art forms, surfing artists
express values such as respect, tolerance and free! dom; values that are part of
the surfer¹s soul.
Ocean City is named ³America¹s Greatest Family Resort². This reputation sets
the stage for this event. We have been able to shine a positive light on surfing
and make this an event the whole family enjoys. We give everyone an
opportunity to appreciate all that the surf culture has to offer.
The first year the festival attracted 300 people. Each year the number of people
attending our show significantly increased to the point that by our fourth show we
needed a larger venue. Last year the 4 th Annual Art of Surfing Festival moved to
the historic Music Pier on the Ocean City boardwalk. This venue made it
possible to attract an attendance of 3,000 people. This year we expect to double
that figure to 6,000 people by not charging an admission price.
This year the Art of Surfing Festival combines surf history, art, music, literature,
and film that not only speaks to a surfer¹s so! ul but also allows a non surfer to
step into a surfing utopia. Whether it¹s the sport of surfing that breeds great
artists or that artistic souls are influenced by the ocean, everyone can
appreciates surfing art in one way, shape or form.

Surfing Artists International

Surfing Artists International (SAI) is a leading art production and distribution
company that celebrates the sport and lifestyle of surfing through original and
printed artwork.
SAI was founded by art gallery owners, Philip DeAngelo and Steve Miller.
DeAngelo and Miller have owned and operated Sagemore Surf Art Gallery since
1997. Their goal was to create the Art of Surfing Festival and produce and
distribute surfing artwork to galleries around the world.
SAI is now preparing for its 5 th annual Art of Surfing Festival. This festival draws
crowds of thousands from surfing communities all along the East Coast to Ocean
City¹s surf community. The festival continues to gain popularity by smashing
attendance records from its prior years.
SAI also produces high-quality art prints from artists whose subject is the sport
and soul of surfing. These magnificent artworks range from soft watercolor
s! tylings to bold acrylic splashes by the world¹s most renowned surf artists,
including Steven Valiere, Wade Koniakowsky, Stephen Reich and Aaron
Bogushefsky. Each print embodies the artist¹s own unique skill and style. Their
artwork evokes the thrill of surfing a perfect swell while capturing the essence of
the surfing lifestyle. The reason this artwork is so authentic is because each
artist is both an artist and a surfer.
The prints published by SAI are printed with offset lithography by one of the
nation¹s premier color printing companies, Coral Graphics. There is a strong and
growing demand for surfing artwork. Surfing Artists International plans to supply
this demand with its high quality surfing art prints and originals.

several thousand people each day.

Our doors open at 6:00PM on Thursday, August 18 th . The hours will be

Special guests

Gidget will be here! Kathy Kohner Zuckerman a.k.a ³Gidget² will be attending
the Art of Surfing Festival 2005. She will be signing her book titled appropriately
³Gidget² written by her father, Frederick Kohner. She will be available to answer
questions and speak about the tales of the beach from the 60¹s, and sign her
book. Kathy Kohner Zuckerman was born in 1941 and grew up in
Southern California. She also spent some of her childhood living in Ketchem
Idaho- and Berlin Germany. Kathy¹s Father was a screenplay writer and her
mother Mimi was an outdoor enthusiast. As a teenager in the early 50¹s, Kathy
spent several summers surfing by the Malibu pier with a group of boys who
comprised a unique and colorful group of bohemian sun and surf worshippers.
Kathy conveyed many of her stories and adventures as a pioneering female
surfer among this cast of characters at Malibu to her father, who went on to write
the American pop classic "Gidget" in 1957 based on Kathy¹s real life
experiences. Since then, Gidget - the girl midget - of Malibu beach- has been an
American icon. In Surfer Magazines 40th anniversary issue which listed the 25
most influential surfers of all time, Kathy was ranked #7. She has been widely
recognized as the first great female surfer, and her story has inspired several
generations of countless young women who have taken up the surf board and hit
the waves.
Today Kathy is an active member of various surf organizations and a regular at
numerous Southern California surfing events. She works part-time as a hostess
at Malibu¹s popular Duke¹s restaurant and is a loving mother of two sons and
grandmother of soon to be two surfing granddaughters. She recently wrote the
forward to the re-issued original "Gidget" book and manages a busy speaking
schedule with appearances around the country.
Michael Halsband is also coming for the fifth edition of the festival. He will
present his award winning movie ³SURF MOVIE: reels 1-14², previously shown
at the ³International Surf Film Festival² in France.
Michael made a book: ³SURF BOOK² with the surfing legend Joel Tudor.
Michael will also sign this book, published in time for the festival.
Joel Tudor should also come since it is the first time that they present the book.
Michael Halsband was born in New York City. He went to the School of Visual Arts, earning his B.F.A.
in Photography. Since 1978 he has been a portrait photographer specializing in
portraits of musicians & other artists (like Andy Warhol or Jean-Michel Basquiat).
From 1981 to 1982, he followed The Rolling Stones ³Tattoo You² North American
Tour. From 1994-1996, he photographed the Making of "Looking for Richard" a
documentary film by Al Pacino. From! 1999 to 2004, he focused his artistic efforts
on the surfing culture. Today he is living in New York and is working on a new
