Well.....I'm back b!tches!!! And it's nice to see that I was so missed. Also nice to see you guys kept it up while I was gone. Hawaii was f-ing unreal, I got a ton of stories. I've never hated to be back in Jersey so much before I barely even skated while I was out there, I brought four boards with me and skated one twice the whole time I was gone. Which sucks because they took a real beating from the travel. (note: if you ever use that caddy daddy bag like philo had posted, be sure to wrap every board individually, not just on the outsides ). I got addicted to the ocean, so every morning was spent surfing and the afternoon was spent doing tourist and honeymooning things (all right, giddity! ). I spent most of the time on my bodyboard, but took out a foam top 10 footer a few times, and learned that longboard surfing is 10 times harder and 10 times more physically demanding then bodyboarding. My bad shoulder couldn't handle paddling the beast. My wife loved surfing though and plans on persuing it, so that's good. I plan on staying on my bodyboard until I drop more weight and can build up my upper body a little more, but I defiently plan on being back in the ocean a hell of alot more. I also had my first experiance of getting held under for two waves once Wikiki started getting big (they had a S swell come in) and was double overhead. I've since quit smoking. Once the swell really started pumping, My beginner as$ sat out and watched the 10-12 footers roll in
Heh, gotta stop myself. Too many stories to tell. Let's just say the Wife and I set a goal to be able to move to Maui in the next 5 to 10 years. No $hit.
So I'm dying to skate. Someone say Sayreville Saturday? 8)

hey wb sensei. glad you had a blast, hi is awesome.
re the caddy daddy, ouch, yeah, i wrap the blanket all around the decks. i'm thinking about cutting the blanket up and making sleves for the boards, that should make it easier to cram them all into the bag.

Dude, big time. I thought I was gonna hyperventilate this morning because I drove the hour drive to work and didn't get one view of the ocean I seriously plan on moving out there, possibly even down closer to "da shore" until I can afford it. I'll be closer to surf, and Sayreville even.
Thanks for the welcome back too guys. JD, sendin ya a pm. I'm defiently getting in the NJ murk this weekend, just have to prepare for the cold water again. Not to drive this thread off topic (like that doesn't ever happen around here ) but what kind of wetsuits do you guys use for winter? 5-4-3? Thicker?

4-3 if ur plump is fine, 3-2 full is fine for waters as cool as 55 or maybe a bit lower (if ur man about it ), booties are nice when its low 50s or possibly even upper 50s, as for a hood, depends on how much of a hot head u are, i kno i never really get frozen in the noggin, others thoh, they go in for 2 minutes and they are an icicle

Yeah man, I am aching to hit up sayreville on saturday, like all day.
I plan to have mike's board done by then, so he can pick that up, and we can get all the pirates back together in one session again.

bob - i rock a 4/3 with a .5 mm hooded vest underneath all year (including the sub 35 degree weather of NJ winters). and its nice cuz when it gets a little warmer, i can just shed the hooded vest, and have a 4/3 with boots and gloves and be comfortable.... 5/4/3's are nice, but theyre only for really cold stuff. if you get a 4/3 with an under layer, it becomes more versatile (saving money). i have a 4/3 with my hooded vest, gloves, and booties for the really cold stuff, then i shed stuff as it gets warmer (hood first, then gloves, then booties), then the 3/2 comes out around 45-50 degrees, then i go to boardies in the summer (or if it gets a little chilly, i have a 2 mm short arm-full leg suit that i wear).
sorry for the long post off topic guys..... but it looks like im in for sayreville this weekend. unless something happens, ill be there....
