Allright guys, wave bye-bye to the pirate site, its going way of the dodo.
For a few reasons too, not only is the forum completly fubar'ed, but someone's Mom happened to catch the site yesterday, and lets just say she wasn't impressed
I will be putting up a new site, one's thats a little more toned down and people friendly. Don't worry, it won't be all sunshine and rainbows though.
I'd like some suggestions for a new name, so fire away. Hopefully, T, Fats, and I will be skating this afternoon, so we'll probably come up with something.

Well, we run slalom on tuesday and thursday nights, and the weekend we usually improvise. I guess, pm one of us and let us know what works for you, and we could get something together.

You guys run that course in both directions and average the time, right?
No cheating just because you are from NJ.
Is it faster in one direction?
Do you find it easier to build speed or maintain speed in the "tough" direction?
How many pushes are you getting?
How about your equipment? Wheelbase and wheel size matter a lot.

Uhh.....yeah sure, were running it in both directions.......*slips a 10 in Joe's pocket* you ain't seen nothing
It's all about the Hamilton's.
Actually, we have ran it in both directions, and its equal from both sides. But we haven't timed it in both directions to be honest. I guess we should.
C'mon, we can cheat, we pride ourselves at becoming the best at rubbing a finger inside our palms (sorry, inside joke)
I'm getting in three good pushes up to the first cone. I think Junior's only getting two, since he pushes mongo (go ahead, let him have it )
I'm running my 30" Fatboy on the tightest wheelbase setting, not sure of the exact demensions. I tried running it with my 27" inch TS board, but it was way too small. I think the wheelbase on that is only around 14 inches or so. I'm running RTX/S with 70mm Lemon lime Zigs right now.
Any of our other secrets we use for our blazing fast double digit times you want to know?

Mongo works better for cyber. He should get more pushes than you.
Search "crow hop" or ask paralell man.
and
You could be using harder wheels.

I use a 27.5 inch board, orange 66mm zigs in the front, green in back. I cant tell you the wheelbase, Its a home made deck I did on a whim.
What wheel base would you suggest?

It's personal choice. I've seen a 36" board come in top 5 in a 30 skater contest.
Advice? Fit the longest wheelbase thru that you can. Compare times with what you are running now. Just use the same wheels.
Nice that you have a timer. you can take the guess work out.

T, tonight I want to run offsets. For at least a good part of the session. We can put down the cyber course if you want to try the longer wheelbase, but I haven't had a chance to change the batteries in the system yet. You could always use the stopwatch if you want a quick comparison.
Joe: I thought about trying the orange/yellow mix for a harder wheel, but every once in a while, if I'm really cranking, my back wheel chirps a bit. Not anything I can't handle, but I'm afraid if I go with a harder wheel in the back, I just might end up on my back.

hey guys, i'm down in miami at some exclusive gated resort called Mandarin Oriental next to the financial district and it's a freakin' parking garage heaven here; i went on a skate this morning at 6am on the Warptail, and must have passed at least 20-25 beautiful garages in a 30 minute cruise. i'm going out again tonight after work hours to take a few runs in the most desolate looking ones. pics to follow.

That's great Ned. Screw the parking garage pics though, I'd rather see pics of the talent on the beach down there. You should go to Miami Ink and get a tat of Action Ned Jackson written over a picture of a gigantic black guy with a huge afro and boom box on roller skates. I think that would suit you well. They'd probably put you on the show

Try making sure your back foot is directly over your back truck. The majority of the wipeouts I've seen are from bad rear foot placement.
Chirps are frightening, but you can live with little ones. It means a break in traction, which can slow you down, but you guys have a timer so riddle me this...
Is a faster wheel with less traction posting a quicker time than a slower wheel with more traction? Does it make a difference if you weigh 100 or 200 lbs?

Good question, will get right on that.
Actually, Junior was experimenting with this equation, but every time he changed to the orange zigs upfront, the timer crapped out
I really outta change dem batteries........

Is supposed to be right over your back truck, or just right before the bolts? Ive heard mixed oppinions on that.

You need weight directly over the rear truck (bolts). Pay attention to if you lift your heel. If you start with your heel over thhe bolts and then lift it, you move your weight forward. Guys that lift the heel need to move the ball of thhe foot to cover at least the inner most bolts.
Can't tell from the photos, but your goofy foot toes should be pointed at 10:30 -11:00 on the dial. Then try to keep your shoulders square to the course and get both your hands in front of you....
Nevermind, I'll be there soon. :P
