awesome -- i love that you're training distance for the race with "secret weapons" -- i'm envisioning a board with like 12 wheels and flames...
AND, Dr Worm filled me in that Kaspar won't be racing this year, so i wonder who's the favorite in a wide open field --
Sensei, George, Tyler, R-Beef, Zogs, Yum(2), CrappySurfer, D-Worm, Y0Man, Action Nervous Jackson, Boe, Original Mike, Boot, Philo???
I've been training every morning in the park pulling cinderblocks behind my subsonic.

After riding my "secret weapon" yesterday for about 10 miles, I thought of an "ultimite secrect weapon" that would own the CP race. Unfortunatly, I don't have the time to have it built or the money for the parts before the race. Should've started training earlier. Oh well. Maybe I'll have it for the Broadway bomb.
I'm also timing all my runs and plan on doing a comparison to see what's faster, pumping my GS over a long distance or pushing a low board. So far pumping seems like it is more of a consistant speed, but since your constantly moving and not just cruising like if you push, it kicks your as$ after a while. My legs are soooooore. Another thing to consider is the bad pavement in CP, and pumping over that could lead to sliding out.

Sure Ned, if the Sayreville sesh gets rained out too. There has been a weird thing last time it rained at Ikea though, somehow where we set our courses, it got moist. Not wet, just moist, and enough to make slalom wheels slide out. It was only a one time thing, we've been there plenty of times in the rain. But if that's the case, we'll just have to go to the garage, its always dry under there. Not a bust on Sundays either.
You all know my cell, just call me and tell me whats up.

We had a nice bowl session yesterday. It was WAYYYYY better than going on some stupid school trip with our gay class. And for the record, yes, they are gay.

Hey
Let set up a slalom race at RIP one night. I'll bring extra boards and timing. Looks like you guys are ready. Practice is like watching porn, racing is like actually being there live .
Next subject. Big race, July 1 & 2, Ottawa. New guy friendly, challenging for veterans, plus it's Canada day, massive party, low drinking age, stupid girls.
Any Jersey boys interested? It's closer than Ohio.

I'm defiently down for a RIP race Joe, I was going to try and set one up but I didn't want to try and lug my timing system on the Subway
Canada sounds intresting. Is it really closer then Ohio? Isn't it like 12 hours or something?

A slalom race at the RIP would be amazing; you'd get so many people here into it. I think the hill is ok (probably not as steep as you guys generally prefer), but the pavement is silky smooth and the lighting is good. Also, cops in the park have been really cool; they've never complained about us blocking the bike path with cones -- they'll usually slow down when they see a bunch of skateboarders, then realize it's a bunch of older guys with helmets and strange looking boards.
I'll gladly host a backyard BBQ with late-night halfpipe action after the event!
Driving into the city from Jersey and parking at Prospect Park is no problem. You'd just go across the GWB, drive down the Hudson Pwy to Canal St, take the Manhattan Bridge into Brooklyn, and take Flatbush Ave till you dead-end Prospect Park. (For any drivers out there, I posted a map of where to park on the RIP events page.)
Y'ALL COME TO NYC!!!

Hey guys, I started a thread about this on the "other" site, but just in case, I looked into the race Joe mentioned in Canada, and he was right, its only about a half hour more then Ohio, around an 8 hour trip. I think I'm going. Anyone else? Lets go spread filth in an entirely different country!!
How do you say douchebag in French?

Here are some reasons to go;
1. Hills are mild. Start ramps and head to head racing, but not crap your pants like Ohio or The Farm later this summer.
2. Points - If you want to be internationally ranked, this is a good choice. It's a "main" race and if you want Main points before the farm, you need to go to Paris or Riga, Latvia.
3. The vibe is great. The Canadians are happy you showed up. "Thank you for comming, eh."
4. July 1 is Canada day in Ottawa, the capital. Big fireworks and lots of fun going on.
5. 19 yr old drinking age.
6. Opportunity to scream in your best Pepe Le Pew French. Just put "Le" in front of everything and add on a a "un huh huh". Yeah, the chicks dig it.
I'll be organizing hotels, car pools, etc.
Fromage,
Joe

Anyone interested in the Downhillbillies event May 19-21?
My parents have an awesome lake cabin in Mooresville NC, about 15 miles from the race site. It's a 10-hour drive from NYC.
