Well, I'm offically in for Canada, got the Wifey seal of approval and signed up.

Fatty, its an 8 hour drive, about the same as Ohio. Expect the Alabama Hot Pocket to come up double the amount of times its coming up on the way to Needham

Neddy- Sorry man, but there's no way I can go to Needham and then NC the following weekend. I gotta spend some time at home, and Lisa's been really cool about allowing me out to races so far Don't want to push it. That, and there's only so much wear and tear my credit card can handle

Okay, anybody that needs a ride Sunday, let me know. First thing Saturday morning I'm going to try and trade in the Jeep and hopefully driving off with a brand new car, if everything goes well. So this will be your only chance of smelling the new car smell, before it smells funky from many a skate trip

And could one of you guys with directions PM them to me possibly, or email me? I know its over by "that place", but not exactly sure where around "that place". Wink wink, nudge nudge.

Allright, I skated my spot yesterday where I want to hold a race, and took a bunch of pictures. I couldn't really get the entire runs in one shot, because theirs alot of trees on the outside of the path. That and my camera skills suck. For some reason, the hills don't look as steep in the pictures, but that's normally the case when I see pics of hills anyway. I was kinda in a rush taking them yesterday too, cause I wanted to skate. I took a bunch of two of the bigger runs there, I didn't take any of the runout hills (there's just to many). And I took some pictures of the course I set yesterday. Check them out:

part of the big run looking up

Top of the biggest run still looking uphill

Sign at the top of the big run, these signs are all over the path, its a good sign if you ask me:

Part of the big run looking down

This is a shot of the pavillon that sits right along the bottom and before the runout of the biggest run in the park, its surrounded by two big playgrounds and benches. Perfect for spectators and a BBQ afterwards:

part of the smaller run looking up:

    Smaller run looking down:

Pavement shot: Pavement is 9/10, just paved last summer:

And here's the course I set yesterday. I set on the smaller hill since there were some kids playing on the playground by the bigger hill. I set a 50 cone hybrid, with some cones pretty loose towards the bottom, and I still had room for more cones. Sorry the shots are a little dark, I took them as the sun was coming down yesterday.

    Bottom end of course:

Bottom looking up, I was flying by the time I hit these offsets, so that's why there so wide

    Midway looking up

Tight curving up to the top:

    And the top looking up:

I really would like to setup a race here for July 8th (its my birthday), That way we could have a party afterwards and even party at my house which is 5 blocks away later that night. But I want to hear your opinions first before I contact the town. What do you think? The pictures don't even really do it justice.

    Awesome!

Can we set a course there and not get booted. Can that be confirmed with the town? If so it is a great single lane spot.

    Joe

PS - Weather looks great for Sunday race

Yes we can set a course there and not get booted, the only cop I've seen up there did radar for me and told me how fast I was going

The path is normally empty, there's the occasional jogger and brave kid on a bike, the joggers I've come across just move onto the grass and occasionally stop to watch and have all been freindly, and the kids on bikes usally take one run and split when they realize how fast the hills are.

If we set up a race there, we can set two courses up at the same time, and actually hold a hybrid on the big run and a tight on the smaller one.

I can probably get the town to give me permission, my dad was a cop in this town for a few years and knows some people. But before I take the steps for that, does July 8th work for you Joe? Fatty? I need a date to tell the town.

And weather for Sunday's looking good!

Cool! Allright, I'm going to start the process of getting it all legal like from the town, and see what they say. If not, an outlaw there should not be a problem.

Sunday's going to be fun!! I've been practicing scaring the crap outta myself at the spot above

Any chance of a Sunday rather than Saturday. Some of us in retail have a difficult time taking off Saturday's.
    Great Spot though

Let me see what the town says Scooter. I really wouldn't want to have it the day after my birthday, as I most likely won't be in good shape that day. But if I can't get the 8th, I'll try for a Sunday date. I working on getting a number and who to call now.

Anthony and Yoel, if you happen to catch this, IHA changed its schedule and they have games tonight, so the lot will be full. I'll most likely be back by my house, call my house if you see this.

    Rob,

Tway and I would like to talk to you about making your race part of our Farm Series.

Also interested in doing one in Brooklyn if you can help us hook it up.

bob those hills are looking nice for cones... i hope you can get something off with the town real easy, it'll be great for us douches... and even better if its part of the farm series! 8)

also id like to say that i set my first slalom course yesterday with shaun at st andrews... it was about 35 cones going from GS to a hybrid/ts... you would have slapped me if you saw it, but it was cool....

on a side note for those in central park, the original secret weapon known as the "board-wich" has been taken out of the basement, and relievedof its excess fiberglass... this board might just get enough attention to be rideable come race day... watch yo self!

I'd be honored Joe! I'm currently working on getting it legalized, it looks like I might have to actually go to a town meeting. My Wife's helping me out with everything too, she's even going to talk to her old sorority sisters about coming and picking up cones (if you offer beer and bbq, they will come ) I'm currently trying for Bikini's and Cheerleader outfits, but alas I was told that would be pushing it.

I will help in anyway I can to set up a Brooklyn race too, but Ned's probably the better guy to talk to. He'll be at the race Sunday. It would be a great opertunity to get a bunch of new people hooked on slalom. Shouldn't be a hard thing to do, just send the word out on Freshpaved and I'm sure we'd get a good turnout.

Looks like the Tri-State's going to be kickin names and taken as$ this year!!!

NED! Where the f_uck where you? I hate to rub it in to you and Junior Gucci Shoes faces, but you guys missed a great race.

You guys should come up by me either tomorrow or thursday and we can session my spot. For T and Beef, if you guys want, I could meet you guys on my way home from work tomorrow if you want to follow me there, but you can just mapquest it. Here's the location mapquest link to the actual spot: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...0Park&qc=Parks

Saturday: Sayreville early morning sesh for Beef's Birthday! Then maybe a slalom sesh in the afternoon? Wifey's going away to Vegas Friday, so I gots the whole house to myself and no comitments the entire weekend other then letting my dog out to crap every once in a while. Maybe Sunday a mini race? Timer's got fresh batteries and ready to go.

Oh, and Beef! Post up that vid where you followed me down at my spot Saturday!

man, i'm HATING it -- looked like a killer day; post more pics beef!!! i got up at 6am to drive to jersey, loaded the car, and the f***** electrical wiring harness in the volvo shorted out the dashboard. AND, what sucks even worse... I have photo shoots in atlanta and memphis the next two weekends, so i doubt i'll be able to make it out soon unless we can plan a mid-week afternoon run one day.

fortunately, the RIP last friday was a blast. Milo and Jam showed up with the rest of the earthwing crew, and we all blew it out pretty good; probably 20 or so people running cones, sliding, carves and dh. i'll check with Brian and see how we can help organize a slalom run on the prospect park hill; sensei-- you'll have to give it a thumbs up on whether the hill is a good spot.
