Re: NYC - Earthwing RIP Updates
I may join you guys at Central, keep in mind that the wind is going to be nuts tmrw, so we may want to check the direction of the wind before you go.
Just to confirm, you're talking about the hill that loops around that large hilltop with the flagpole on it?

Re: NYC - Earthwing RIP Updates
According to Weather.com, wind will be going West, so on the Central Park hill that you are interested in, the wind will be either against us half the way or all the way, so I won't be going. The other hill near there would be great though (on the NE side of the park).

Hey guys. Im new to longboarding and might head out this Friday night. I was in the newbie forum asking around for boards and many many people pointed me to the EW SuperGlider. It looks like a fun board. Im looking for my first ever board, and figured why not check it out at the source. I live on long island, so I'm thinking about going to Penn and taking the F downtown, but Im also not too sure whats the best way.
The reason I got into the idea of Longboarding is because Im most likely going to Manhattan College next Semester and I think that a longboard would be a sweet mode of transportation in NYC.
Looking forward to see you guys there. I just have a shortdeck now, Im not sure if you guys demo your boards out there, but it would be awesome to try one out.

We meet at around 8. I'll give you directions from penn to Prospect:
There are many options but the easiest is probably for you to take the A, C or E from penn station (34st) to West 4th street, and you go downstairs and take the F from there, and take it for a while until you hit the prospect park stop (15st/prospect park).
If you know your way around, you can walk out of Penn station and find the D,B,F,V on 6th ave, but I forgot where you have to walk from there, if you know your way around, then do that. I am saying for you to take the ACE to W4st because you don't have to walk out of Penn, you can walk to the station from instead of having to completely leave Penn and go on your own.

Ok I looked at the map, you can pick up the NRQWDFBV about 1 block down from Penn station, b/c they both stop at the same stop (34st, Herald Square) so you just walk down 34st going out the front entrance of MSG and you'll find the BDFV line. And from there you take the F etc.
-Hope to see you there

I may be coming tomorrow....will be the first time skating for a while now that ski season is coming to a close. I got a severe concussion a few days ago so I'll probably just be cruising down the hill and maybe a slide or two. I'll be talking to a doc later today and my presence will be dependent on his recomendation.
