For the people (dylan) destroying bearings yesterday the reason your bearings are popping out is cuz you need spacers or all your bearings will be shot, they cant handle sideloads without spacers!

Re: NYC - Earthwing RIP Updates
Actually, the sets of bearings had spacers and washers and were tight. The #### just explodes under the torsion of hard sliding. Solution: buy better bearings. I use Biltin. Two years on this set and no worries.

Re: NYC - Earthwing RIP Updates
I was sliding after I got back from watch tower on my home hill and exploded yet another bearing (which had a spacer and was tightened down) leaving me running to catch my wheel for 200 feet. I think I'm going to replace all the speedy lunatics in my slide board with biltins or at least something with a steel spacer.
Fun session yesterday btw. Any chance of seeing those photos steve?

Re: NYC - Earthwing RIP Updates
Out of the box, Biltins are awesome for sliding on hills that have absolutely no dirt, sand, or dust anywhere near them. If you hold one up and look at it, you can see daylight through the gap between the shield and the inner race, which means that particulate matter beyond the typical dust and moisture can easily get into the beariing. They'll get very dirty very quickly, rendering them very useless unless you replace the shields with seals.
Also, if anyone needs steel bearing spacers I have a fat sack of them. I'll hook you up for a couple bucks a set.

You are insane Wells, I've neve had a problem with biltins. I have with every other set. Maybe I just have the touch? Plus shields are moot.
