You think they're going to tell you about the negative aspects of their boards? They're trying to sell you something. Any foamcore board will NOT take a heavy beating.

You could always buy a 9 play and add your own c/f.

I'd have the foam one if I was more skilled as a rider. But the cost vs the chance of my bailing and curbing it was just to high. Like I said though. If my skills ever got to the point that I wanted to race then I might consider it.


I've decided that I'm not bringing it. It's sleeping now...waiting for my next trip to some big hills.

I'll be bringing my Earthwing and my Drop Wedge(which is also wood/carbon/fibreglass) The drop wedge isn't nearly as impressive to look at though. I just refinished the EVO and and it looks new. I beat on my drop wedge.

Adding CF to your board isn't a bad idea. I think I'm going to give it a shot. I just got it all explained to me from Justin over at PSB. So, my Hellcat will soon be a CF-cat. Well, so long as I can find the right stuff over at HomeDepot.

How are the roads where we will be? I was going to bring my Big Zigs but I have been trying to keep them off really rough pavement.

the roads in prospect park for the rip are perfect -- i love that pavement, and the same with the east village if we do a costume run over to union square. if we hit up jersey/sibbald or bob's big ass run, perfect pavement there too.

apparently, ian took a ride down broadway this week and it's a little more challenging (rough in parts, plus some road construction); so you might not wanna risk the zigs on that run. i could lend you some old 76mm flywheels for the bomb if you don't want to pack extra wheels.

so i finally got my slalom deck laminates glued together this week, looks like i'll be rockin' some cones if JamesGrace is around... now, if i can just find a surfboard shop that does fibreglassing I'll be set -- any ideas???
