wow, i went outside to leave for the RIP and it was pouring rain here in queens. called Jam -- raining in Brooklyn. weather.com said there was a ZERO percent chance of rain for 7pm when I checked it an hour ago, with 20 percent through 10pm.

bummer.

downpour rain plus 60mph wind gusts = SLIDES!

here's the new poster for the NOVA event in Virginia:

It's now a downhill race PLUS a slide competition! We'll leave Friday night (Nov 17) and try to get to DC by midnight or 1am, hopefully crash in sleeping bags at a warehouse bowl called Fight Club. The event starts at 11am the next morning. It'd be great to have lots of NYC area folks go down as Team Earthwing. I'm driving down, and I think there may be a few other cars/vans going down from NY/CT. We may have to document the whole adventure in video/photos.

Yeah. Last night was a freak'n waste! I came home cuz I didn't want to get stuck in the rain or stay out late. I ended up staying up till 6:00 am with my roommate playing FIFA. Now I go to work. Now I shoot myself in the face.

But, good news is the flyer for VA is siiiiick and I'm definitely go'n! Ned, we need to hit up some real hills before we go to VA. Maybe we should take a day trip up to Rabid Skunk's neck of CT.

it was an insane session last night, the rain totally helps you do crazy things. plus we partied till we were dry! at least i thought i was

You definitely should. I know Ned is going to be around here Sunday, so maybe he'll find some good hills there. I'm also looking around here for bigger better hills that I haven't done yet.

Yo Doxastic, I left you a voicemail; looks like i'll drive out to Danbury CT tomorrow (Sunday morning/afternoon), probably w/ Longbord1 if he can make it out. I want to check out the town and grab some lunch, then scout out a crazy road on google that may be fun to cruise called Depot Hill Rd -- it's in the middle of lakes and hills, looks pretty isolated. Kind of a longshot, but we're gonna check it out anyway... there will be some good hills there nearby somewhere.

so yeah, lemme know if anyone wants to take a day trip -- leaving from my house in Woodside around 10:30am and returning around 4pm; a quick little getaway session on a fall day.
