Silly city skaters, Prospect Park's puny push-in corners can't compete with what we're working with in Westchester and Jersey. Take a train trip and drift something fast.

picture yourself at the rip hill. there is an intersection and a road that leads into the park at the top of the hill, go down that road, after a hundred yards or so there is a dirt path on the right with some steps that lead up to the highest point in the park, all that got paved in the last week. i was there tonight and hit the sweeper leading up to it seven times, the first were more carving runs, the last two full tuck the whole way, speed is like twenty five maybe but feels quick in the woods, kind of blind, i was there at just the right time and only encountered one biker. the whole run takes maybe a minute and then the steps are there to walk up to the top pretty much, the bottom has a nice paved turn around. its an ideal setup, away from the majority of the park user. the top has some sticks but thats it, its the best trail ive seen up here. by far. pics when i get a chance. but everyone should check it out.

thats what im talking about. and the pavement is brand spanking new. i was in a full tuck with the board leaning about two feet over with a set of old flywheels, chattering over sticks etc. huge hairpin sweeper. and its right in the park.

its overlooking the lake and the rest of prospect park. you cant miss it as its the only newly paved thing in that vicinity.

skated today as it got dark, so much faster with just a long sleeve tee and some sweats vs yesterday with a bunch of layers. might be the fastest run in the park. i tried my best to tuck the whole thing today but would have been drifting around the hairpin, so i played it somewhat safe.

be careful. i came across one woman walking and tried my best not to seem out of control and reckless. its a million times better than the rip hill, not as long but feels like a journey.

Just missed you. I was there and on the rip hill from like 2:30 to 4:00. What a great find. Lots of nuts and berries on the very top, but otherwise perfect. A journey, like you said. A few couples, one rollerblader, one dog walker, one mom and kid, otherwise empty all that time. And there was a hawk perched in a tree at eye level near the steps at the very top. Let me get within fifteen feet.

It needs a name. Mt. Speedy?
