It needs a name. Mt. Speedy?
sucks i missed the hawk, i started looking for them maybe a year or so back, my parents relentlessly pointed them out on car trips when i was younger, im finally getting the hang out it, thats when you know your old.
yeah, the hill is better with a little light, i could do like five on thursday but it will probably be dark, with a spotter it could work at that time of day. sunday morning would be ideal. i kicked away some of the debris around the top of the run. kind of a smooth run now.

That hawk obviously needs to be named Tony.

Re: NYC - Earthwing RIP Updates
looks like a fun little spot, better than the rip hill for sure. I wish I could skate it before I go home but I'll be at a christmas party this friday and then my flight is sunday morning.
Maybe if I skate Mike's mini sometime this week I"ll go check this out as well.

Oh, dude. It's not that freshly paved, I've done that. It's a lot of fun. I thought you were talking about near the rip hill up the steps.

Re: NYC - Earthwing RIP Updates
its not that narrow. plenty of room to pass someone walking up or on a bike, both of which i did. man, thats a nice paving job for something that used to be gravel. its a place where you can get pretty hurt if you tried though. still cant believe i had to break my tuck on the warm days, i blame the visibility but the speed is what had me thinking twice, right at the drifting point, im stoked about the warmer months, no one really goes there, i saw some guy smoking crack when i was there the second time. its a spot for us. pics sunday. i pray for clear weather in the morning.

Re: NYC - Earthwing RIP Updates
i wanna skate this crazy hairpin in central park tomorrow, its inbetween sixth and seventh ave. down the bottom on 60th, you can easily see it from the street. the top is super driftable, but the run out is a zigzag and may not be makeable at speed. im gonna bring a camera. txt me 610.247.2568.

Re: NYC - Earthwing RIP Updates
i know. i skated them when i moved up here for a bit, this one is probably the best one, its so close to trains, no one really uses it and its hella fast. just dangerous. i may take a miners light to prospect tonight for that path, looks like rain friday.

Re: NYC - Earthwing RIP Updates
edit, looks like six inches of snow, sleet etc, im skating at the prospect park tonight, gonna be warm before the cold front comes through, those fronts push warm air ahead of them, i figure by 7.30-8 that path will be deserted. its almost usually empty at 5. txt me if you wanna meet up.
