has anyone skated over the bridge? i walked across and it seems like it would be a nice ride. manhattan one.

Just an FYI thing, Chris (gravity) and I went to scout out the Cloisters on Sunday and it was pretty good. The pavement was eh (needed sweeping) and the paths were very fast and intense. There is one very fast toeside and one fast heelside (you can keep going up the paths and if you went to the top you'd be going insanely fast, upper 20's I would say if you're just standing up, and on a path that'll feel much faster). So if anyone is bored, you can find some stuff up there, the place isn't as big as it looks though and the trip up there is a pain in the ass (I hate the A and 1 trains). Keep in mind that the paths are for the most part very steep (no mellow runs) so you need to have your drifting skills handy unless you want to be footbreaking all over the place.

Manhattan Bridge is fun. Long uphill, long flat, long downhill. Some expansion joints but pavement's good. Tight turns around the towers. Never much traffic. Path's not wide enough to carve off speed, so it gets pretty fast. But you know all that if you've walked it.

cloisters sounds like lookout hill in prospect which as soon as the weather turns and the wind is good, is gonna be a sweet spot. i would say upper twenties.

the bridge is in my plans for sure. i went to take photos and just for the fun of it. a few people on bikes were there, it was cold. thanks for the info.

The Cloisters is much more technical and is steeper than lookout hill, in some spots its more than watchtower grade steep.

I guess if you are comparing the bottom right turn of Lookout Run to the Cloisters, then yes.

Damn, I remember that long stretch of decent weather we had, but it rained almost every Friday.

I will be off from school Friday, so if anyone wants to skate....
