The usual spot in Prospect Park for the Friday night RIP is almost too crowded to skate on a summer Saturday afternoon.

definitely. i'm all for it on a saturday, infact we're better off hitting 116th and riverside. great locataion and lots of hills in the area.... and no saturday afternoon bikers. whos ripping this friday?

Hey Jess,

That intersection sounds real familiar, is that where the bomb started last year? If it is I skated the path for at least 2 hrs before the race started and had a blast. Nice mellow incline and good length, just enough to get you going at a good clip and let you flow.8)

Because 116th is a good spot. Remember how much fun it was running up that hill? And isn't snake full of traffic in the day?

yeah i remember. i hated that. isn't watchtower steeper?
snake has traffic 24/7
ahhh snake is safe if you have more than 8 people.
I only go that early because it's useally just me and two other people.
when we did the style sessions a few years back we skated there till about 1pm.
and if you have the big enough balls you can skate snake anytime. I'm down to try it.
but if i'm gonna risk my life I want video of it.

I was just up there doing the dirt jumps on a mountain bike. So fun. The cloisters look like they would be fun to hit. Traffic on a weekday morning/early afternoon is pretty sparce.

the traffic there is really not bad at all, even on a saturday it's pretty mellow. plus it's a great place to take pictures and video, the buildings look real nice. i've never gotten bothered there, only once this old man was complaining that theres a skate park down the block but we tried to tell him it's just a different kind of skating.

that block photographs real well, theres gonna be an add in the new concrete wave and the pic was taking on 116. by far one of my most favorite spots, i don't feel like having head lights driving at my face in the cloisters and i wanna skate in the afternoon, not the ass crack of dawn so no snake.

116 thats where i'll be. i love watchtower too but i'm itching to hit this spot.

plus that skate park really really sucks and is not maintained. so it's a good thing you never went, it's a death trap. have fun on 116th
me and bunch of people are hitting owl's head pool on sat 9am. and I'm doing snake at 7:30am sunday with the cloisters after.
