Hey Brooklyn -- we're planning a last minute RIP tonight (Wednesday, April 12) at 7pm in Prospect Park. We've been talking about a Wednesday session for a while, so let me know if there's any interest. I'll definitely be there on the Nervous Ned board, and Brian will show up with his hot new Earthwing prototypes around 8 or so.
DIRECTIONS:
Meet in Prospect Park at the 15th Street entrance
F Train to 15th St/Prospect Park station -- Park Slope Brooklyn
(Look for the entrance to the park across from the movie theater)
Note:
If you show up late or nobody's hanging out at the park entrance, skate into the park and turn right where the road forks; there's a long hill where we all skate about 1/8 mile from the entrance.
To get there by car, you might want to Mapquest it, but basically it's located in Park Slope Brooklyn off Flatbush Avenue, then turn onto Prospect Park West until you get to 15th Street.
Park on the street near the corner of 15th and Prospect Park West -- it's a really safe neighborhood; no problems. OR, sometimes it's easier to find a spot around the corner at Prospect Park Southwest drive, especially during the summer when more people are there.
Tomorrow (Thurs) is supposed to be NICE/78 degrees and ZERO chance of rain. We've put together a crew to head over to Prospect Park around 7:30pm til late... Brian is setting up a wheelie board and tracking down a video camera; Jim Grace is packing up his slalom cones; I'm pulling out the Subsonic 46" drop-deck to take a few runs around the entire park... so yeah, everyone should come out and enjoy the pavement.
Directions above if needed.
Call if you get lost or need more info.

Email from Brian:
Bring your sticks, and balls, and let's RIP Brooklyn a new one. I will be filming, and taking more photos for various projects in the works. I will attempt a longer, faster wheelie bomb, so it you guys want to try to get there early like 7pm, I will need someone to film, and someone to watch the camera stuff. There are photos from last week, and the wheelie video on www.earthwingskateboards.com I would like to get footy of everyone to edit together for the site.
Thanks guys, we are creating a tight group of buddies here.
Everyone is welcome, EVERYONE.
Especially if you are a beginner, all of us dig teaching.

Let's meet for a big rip Friday night 7:30pm in Prospect Park.
If it rains that night, Earthwing Brian might have people over to his place for skate videos and to check out some new prototypes. The 38" production sprint deck might possibly arrive Friday as well.
Really? What weather report are you checking? All I see is thunderstorms for Friday night
I'll sneak this in here though, rather then the race thread in the slalom section. If the forecast changes or the weather holds out, we'll be there setting the course for the slalom race next Friday. So if you want a leg up on the compititon and want a chance to ride the course a little early, show up to the Rip tomorrow.

Weather forecasts in NYC lately are a JOKE. The forecast I saw is for a 40% of isolated thunderstorms in the late afternoon. I say we go for it if weather looks ok. If not, let's plan to reschedule for another night this weekend if everyone is free. I think it's a great idea to set up the course and do some practice runs.
Well.....if it all goes to hell, since Bob and I are going to be in the city on Sunday anyway, maybe we could set it then? I know its a bitch and a half traveling on trains with ####, but if we just brought like a board and the bag of cones, that wouldnt be SO bad.

Well, we could do that, if your willing to carry the 50 friggin cones in that bag all over the place. I was planning on having a nice relaxing (read: I'll be drinking) session at the Brooklyn Banks then going to see the Bombs. We'd have to go to the park to set the course after the show. I guess we could if we really had too.
OR, if we do get rained out tomorrow, how about Saturday night? Everyone cool with that?
