I'll be out on the Island. Syosset industrial park was cool last week but could have used a ski lift by sundown. No traffic-no hassles-one security guard who just waves. Always looking for new spots.

Thumbs up Long Island Generally Sucks... Except!

Was giving directions to a friend to the Westbury Music Fair (Capital One Theater) and told him you can't see it from the street-that's because it's damn below with def steep hill into an empty/smooth lot. Went there on a day w/ no events. No hassles no security, no traffic. Would be great for pylons too. Lots is huge and good for towing, etc. as well. Speed off the hill into the lot lets you try new stuff too. Bookmarked the the site and always keeping an eye out for no show days as not to get squashed and keep it on the D.L. as to not loose this baby. This spot is a gem. Always down to meet up on evenings for this place.

    I can't believe I forgot about this place-I'm a mile away-out of site out of mind-ha

I just started surfing. Been out to Long Beach 3 times on a 7-foot funboard. Haven't had too much success, but I've been working on paddling and positioning for the break, etc.

I work in Long Beach and keep my board there. I have only gone out on weekends, but I could see an early morning or evening sesh during the week.

I'm much better in the skateboard realm, but still no expert. Maybe we could trade some tips, get some stoke on.

I'd def be down for an evening run to try this place out... shoot me a pm sometime when no events are scheduled!

When I get out there it's usually mid-day, but will let you know before hand when I'm in that neck of the woods man. Keep up the effort... once you get that first wave it will forever be imprinted in your memory haha. I just started out this year as well and finally caught my first big ride yesterday and haven't really been thinking of anything else!

No expert on skates and surfed for about 2 seconds so I'll probably be learning from you-just dig going faster each time/getting lower, faster turns.

Long Beach is rad as a town. Seems to get better every year.

Here's the schedule below-gap on Sunday and some in the early week I might be able to make-can do evenings-long days are great for this-Big gap week after-I'll be in D.C sometime next week but I know Sunday is clear-think you're blocked for the weekends though? In any case, if you go, I'd bring knee and elbow pads at least for this one if you want to cut loose.

    Cool...

If anyones interested, I'll probably will be at the meadowbrook bank tomorrow evening. I'm getting alittle pissed off with the little shits that skate/bmx at the bank and leave there trash behind (including a broken board) as well as writing skate graffiti on the walls.

Last week when I skated there some of the highway work crew came there to do some survey work and they said what's up and didn't break my balls about skating the bank (even though it's probably tresspassing). Now, if skaters trash the place and tag the walls, well, there gonna start breakin' Balls! If you known anyone who rides there tell them not to be a liiter bug or tag on the walls. Let's not ruin another skate spot, it's the only concrete wave we have on thei island.

Congrats, that's rad-that'll give you the fever-great to bring the ocean back home too . First try was in Santa Cruz-lived by there-but not long enough-you'd lose your nuts. Always had to borrow a board-definitely will get on it at some time.

Trying to shoot for Monday for the Music Fair on skates.

Tell you when I'm able to get to LB-wind up there semi-frequently.

Insane #### on the side on Mountain Creek (North Jersey) I'll give you a heads up on when I go up there as well. Hilly place- whole way from Rt 80 to 23N to Vernon is all ascension.

    Cool bro.

Ditto-time and place? Good after 5 on my end. Do you need a short board?

Westbury Music Fair-schedule ruled though or it's constant traffic full lot, security-Check the link I posted and look for dates w/ no shows-may have to back off if you see some setting up for a big event the day before but it hasn't been the case. I'll post here when I go.

I'm looking for info on the Meadowbrook bank myself.

Ah, I see. I thought 'gap' was the name of a skate spot. I'll try to make it out Sunday.

Is it bad form to publicly post the location of skate spots on private property? I imagine some need more secrecy than others.

On that note, I am working on a Google map for LI skate spots, like the one I'm working on for Brooklyn / Manhattan / Jersey: Brooklyn no secrecy needed

Post or PM me if you have any info or want to see or collaborate on the LI map. It's only got the Capital One Bank Theatre and a Long Beach garage right now.

Hey Mike, Phil, LI crew, I'm gonna be on the island, visiting family, the weekend of October 11th. Anyone down for a garage sesh Saturday morning, October 11th? I'd love to hit the cage and some of the other Mineola garages if anyone is free.
