yea security is pretty serious on the weekends, otherwise the garages themselves are sweet. empty if you go there at night. last i remember the pavement has no annoying gaps between the slabs like most parking garages.

hey man you think the parking lot (not the garage) is smooth enough to skitch? and also when do they close?

by the way theres a great parking garage in manhasset, right across northern boulevard from the macys (right by community drive) hit me up if you guys are down to hit it. its an office building and is pretty much closed on weekends and at night. securitys pretty chill if u find the right times to go.

Re: New York, Long Island Garages
Hi Long Island.
I just got back from school and I'm already tired of skating alone. I've also got no clue about any spots around me. I'm in Eastport, but I've got a car and am willing to drive just about anywhere.
I'm just looking to spend some time with like minded people - that is laid back skaters. I would love to hit up a skatepark and learn how to pump a transition, garage bombing, dancing, shooting the ####. I really need some tips on sliding too.
This thread seems a little dead, but I thought I'd post to see what's up.

Also, does anyone own or ride Original trucks? I've been dying to try them, I think they're exactly my style, but who knows.

Re: New York, Long Island Garages
Oldy and/or Jetkin - Maybe the next time there is a LI meet-up I could try them? I'm mostly interested in the S6s and S8s... I've been really drooling over the new Original website, especially over the Hybrid 35 and Derringer, though I'd also be interested in seeing how they handle on longer decks.
Oldnstoked - I remember a while ago reading you were from Pequa? I grew up there and consequently spend a lot of time there with my friends in the area. If you'd be willing to meet some night, I'd appreciate the stoke.

Don't know when I'm likely to be on LI next (organize a garage ride and I'll try to come out), but if you ever want to come skate in Brooklyn, I have a Hybrid35 you can try.
There are a lot of threads with good info about Originals. Here's one that talks about wheelbase & handling.
