LIsk8r, I'll have you doing ollies in no time.....that EW has a really nice pop. Been thinking making a slide set up myself.....I really like those EW slide wheels, the soft inner core makes them ride so much smoother than other hard wheels.
Cool, thanks Dave. Hopefully I'll be able to make it this weekend. My home session consisted of 20 mins. of skating 2 hills 3 blocks from my house. Still, some skating is better than no skating!

Anyone have any preferences for skating this weekend. Saturday's weather looks pretty good so far. I'd like to hit some of OldnStoked's Cold Spring Harbor runs.

I've been eyeing this thread for a while and I think this weekend I'll finally be able to come out from Brooklyn and join you. I'll wait to see more details about time and place as you figure it out (or PM me if you prefer).

Note to NYC folks: There'll be some room in my car if anybody wants to drive out with me.

Is late afternoon good. I would hate to miss a session since were losing light and the sand will come soon on all the good runs. I found out that my sons soccer game is at 2:00. If 3:30 is to late I can have my wife cover the game or meet you guys at the spots. Another option is early Sunday morning. Some roads are like ghost towns early Sunday like 6:30 am. You could skate down 106 into Oyster Bay. Or 25A into Cold Spring Harbor ( sick runs ). All the garages are empty also. Just a thought. Maybe we'll start heading to garages as the winter comes. Thats when I discovered them last year.

I am totally in for 6:30 am, I am usually up at 3:55 in the morning anyway. It would also leave open the rest of the day for the family, my wife would be very happy. I love the idea of long runs on empty main roads or garages or anything covered with asphalt. Seriously, I don't care I just want to skate. 6:30 am sounds good to me as long as everybody else is up for it.

hey guys, it's jess from the ew crew. mike d and i are hitting up a garage in great neck either monday or thursday night this week around 9ish. i will go both if people want to skate. if anyone is around let me know and i will give you info. plus we found a sick slide hill close by that is insane. everyone i showed it to compares it to hills out in cali. i was stoked to stumble onto it betwen teaching drum lessons. anyways, it goes straight down and it bottoms out into a dead end, so for once we don't have to deal with traffic. just pm usme and we will hook it all up.

i will totally come out to you guys one night as well. just need to beefen my gargage chops i just been sliding lately. be well!

Where is the Great Neck garage? I have to work those nights but you guys should try to meet up with us for a Sunday session. 9:00 on a week night might be a little late for me.
    Keep in touch.

Whats good for tomorrow. I have to go in tonight till 12am but if you guys want to do something early I could make it work. I'll try to make anything work. The boss said she could cover the soccer game if you want to do the afternoon.

Hey Jessica, I would definately be into skating with you guys, but weeknights are rough for me...I'm pretty fried when I get out of work. How about some Sat/Sun sessions? OldnStoked is the garage/hill all-knowing guru, he's got some really fun runs. Just two weeks ago, one of the guys, Itj999, showed up with one of those EW sliders and was pulling some killer 360 slides down one of the steep hills we know of. We're gonna try an early morning ride tomorrow if you're interested.....around 8, I think.

    Mike & Dave,

8am sounds good to me. How about same meeting place as last time ( Marshall's parking lot) that's pretty much central to where we would skate anyway right? The EW slider came in yesterday, I seem to be able to do toeside 360/slides but the coleman has me bouncing on my a$$ across the pavement. I am sure it's just a matter of time and a correction of form, but holy sh*t this thing lets loose real easy, I love it!!!

    Jessica,

Nice to hear from you. You and Mike D. made my trek to the bomb by subway very easy, thankyou. Weekday sessions are kind of rough for me but I definitely want to make it into brooklyn for one of those friday night rips. I am also looking forward to hitting some garages! Come on out and bring the crew

Okay, let's meet at Marshall's at 8. Mike, I can be at your place at 7:30 if that's cool? Hey John, I feel your pain, my first coleman at real speed, I bounced my a$$ two-three times, ripped my shorts, etc Can't wait to see that EW! Tomorrow's gonna be cool!! Later!

Thats cool with me. 7:30 at my house then we'll meet John at Marshalls at 8:00. I think it will be Cold Spring Harbor this week. We should try to find a nice gas powered leaf blower at a garage sale. That would be cool. Clean streets and garages. I'm going to work at 2:00 today but I'll be checking the posts.

You guys break my heart. I don't think I can make it out that early. If my plans change, I'll call Oldnstoked's cell phone (it's somewhere in a earlier message in this thread). That sound OK?

As a consolation, with the NYC Marathon passing through my neighborhood, there are lots of street closings, so I should be able to get out and rip up a few good blocks that are usually clogged with cars.

We'll probably be skating for a few hours, so give a call if you want to come out later.
