Re: New York, Long Island Garages
Great session today guy's. I had a blast. Can't wait to skate again. Mike, Cold Spring Harbor was awesome. I don't think I have ever seen people that courteous and friendly to skaters as I did up there today. They smiled and waved, pretty cool! Dave thanks for the tips on the coleman and the ollie's I got some practicing to do. See you guy's soon.

Re: New York, Long Island Garages
Hi everyone, my name's Jason and I'm new to the longboarding. After three years of wanting one and not having money, I finally made the investment. Now, after rent and gasoline cost, I finally had money to do it. It's been a week and it's been AMAZING. I thought snowboarding was fun but too costly and I didn't want to make the trip to a damn mountain everytime. With this longboard, I just walk outside or on campus and there I have it. I'm in the Stony Brook area and pretty much outside my place or empty parking lots at Stony Brook University have been pretty fun, especially the garage at administration if anyone goes to stony. Anyways, I figured I'd introduce myself and see if I can join any sessions around at any local garages cuz I'm dying to learn more and move with complete control of the board, and I'd figure who better to ask than everyone else who as been skating longer than me. Besides, skating alone is only so much fun and I can always use help and tutorials. Hope to meet everyone soon, I keep seeing that there are nothing but nice people around. All the best...

How's it going ShadyMailMan,
I am right in Lake Grove which is a stones throw from Stony Brook. When I am able to make the sessions you could catch a ride with me no problem.

Dude
You have to let us know if your coming home for Thanksgiving. ( That goes for all of you who are away at school ). That was a sick session we had at the end of the summer before you guys split. I would like to get something together for Thanksgiving weekend. Maybe an early morning "Turkey Session". Keep watching the thread and let us know your schedule.

You make me laugh.( in a good way ). Still thinking of the last time I skated with you. You have balls that I wish I had. You would have fit right in with the boys at the Jersey session ( Where the Douche Bags Roam )

I have that week off from work, so I'll definately be down for some sessions then. I'm also off the Friday after Thanksgiving. I think our 'turkey session' is gonna be rad, we have so many more hills now and the LI crew is really blowing up. Mike, those hills Sunday were awesome, I felt like I was on a ski trail! Ryan, you'll see I can't agree more with John, the folks living up there were so cool!! Anyone down for a session this weekend? I know it's early but I can't help it. To all the new guys checking out the thread and looking to skate, welcome! We're really developing a sweet longboard scene out here. As far as sessions go, we try to get sessions going every weekend if possible. This past weekend we went out at 8am on Sunday morning.....I know it sounds rough, but we practically owned the hills. I think I speak for all of us when I say we're pretty flexible, timewise, so whatever times are best for the majority is fine. Looking forward to seeing some new faces and some old ones back from school. Take care!!

Re: New York, Long Island Garages
What's up Guy's,
I'm stoked to see so many people interested in this. I know I said I wasn't going to be able to do anything Thanksgiving week but I seem to have freed up some time on that saturday. Early morning was good for me but if you guy's could do the saturday I would be open to anytime during that day. That friday and sunday I still got stuff to do.

Harrison,
I don't know if you remember me, you tried my flex1 vanguard before the bomb. I was just telling Mike and Dave at the last session about the board that you were riding, maybe you could describe it because I couldn't remember exactly what it was. Try and make the session's we're having a blast.

The weather couldn't decide what the hell to do until just a few minutes ago when the rain finally started. I managed to get in a quick session practicing boardwalking earlier this morning, and I had a great ride around prospect park yesterday (with new pink gummmies, woohoohoo!). Still hope to hook up with you guys sometime, though the next few weekends have "family" written all over them.
Cheers,
Jim
