I loved that photo too; PM me your email address and I'll send you a hi-res version so you can blow it up without it becoming all pixelated/boxy looking.

looks like you guys have some awesome sessions going. Count me in for your next garage outing. Is there a train that goes there? Or Ned I maybe could catch a ride with you>?

Re: New York, Long Island Garages
yeah Jam, we'll make it out soon, the garage sessions are fun. maybe President's weekend (whenever that is)... I usually just take the LIRR out to near the garages and hitch rides from there.

Were heading out now. To bad you guys couldn't make it. If we get the snow they are saying we'll get it might screw up the garages too.

You guys missed a great session. Dave found a sweet one. We took the long way around the block and stumbled upon a smooth bank. Then went into the garage ( smooth and empty ). Can't wait to hit it again.

Re: New York, Long Island Garages
Fun ride guys! Jim (Longbordour), that was cool the way you just rode into the session while we were going down the sixer. Mike, you gotta get Dennis onto this thread. I'm glad you guys dug that garage. Hey Ned, I think it's a safe bet at this point, so see if you can make it out next time. We were talking about hitting them again this Sunday if anyone is interested. Later...

Re: New York, Long Island Garages
NYC/Long Island Crew,
I'm new to the longboarding world (back from a long pause) but use to skate back in the early 80's. Would like to hang with you all for a slide or garage session. I probably wont be as good as many of you but I learn quick.
I've been practicing my coleman slide on a Bustin board - Complex 42' long. Got some slide A from EW (awesome wheels), Tracker Dart trucks. I'm amazed on how much the technology has changed with wheels and boards, etc. I'm going to make my Bustin board a kool street board w/ Gumballs. Get a new setup for slide only, EW Drifter 35.5 w/ indy or trackers and slide A wheels.
I live in Washington Heights, a few blocks away from the Cloisters. I been practicing sliding everyday even in the bitter cold and my slides and overall feel of longboarding is coming back to me.
Hope to meet most of you peeps around.
Peace
Alex

Re: New York, Long Island Garages
Is anybody off on Saturday or Monday? I can't do Sunday unless I start early, say around 9am or 10 am. If not no big deal I'll make the next one.

Re: New York, Long Island Garages
John,
Saturday won't work for me, I have to work a couple hours and then I have an eye appointment. I'm also working on Monday, so Sunday is my only available time.
Alex,
Welcome to the thread. Keep an eye out for sessions, and don't worry about anyone's skill levels just come out and have a good time.

No problem Dave, we'll all get something going soon. After the weather this week I have'nt been too happy about the thought of my Vanguard in all that salt and sand.
