Re: New York, Long Island Garages
I'll be at the Central Park race for sure!
I see you guys tomorrow night. It sounds like we are meeting at 8:30PM. Anyone have any idea how long it takes to get from Penn Station to Miniola on the LIRR?
Oh, and I'll bring some cones and my new slalom timer!

Re: New York, Long Island Garages
I'm in. See you guys tonight. Dave - give me a call. I'm working all day but I'll try to get back to you asap. Ned - Are you going to make it? To bad its going to be so late, it would be cool to hit some hills but then again I skated in the dark before. It will be cool for us to get together again.

Re: New York, Long Island Garages
yep i'm definitely there; probably just take the LIRR out -- looks like I'll arrive at 8:17pm into Mineola station. James Grace is heading out from NYC too. Can someone PM us the exact directions from the train station?

Re: New York, Long Island Garages
that was a blast!! the cage is by far the best garage i've ever skated. I definitley have to drive out next time though so i can stay for the whole thing and bring more boards. I also have to set me up a slalom board, i never knew it was so much fun. thanks ned for letting me use your board all night. we should get something going for next week, i have a friend who is finishing school monday and is down for some skating.

GET THAT GUY - It was cool. We split about a 1/2 hour after you.
Dave - I made a copy of that vid so its cool to keep the one I gave you last night. Dudes - It was a great time, can't wait to get together again. Lets keep in touch.
Peace Oldy

yeah, that was a fantastic session. dude, you were picking up that slalom stuff FAST; gotta get you set up with a slalom deck, you and Oldnstoked both.
it was great seeing everybody and skating 3 hours straight. now that i know there's enough light in the garage, i'll definitely bring some cameras next time. let's plan something for next weekend -- maybe some hills early evening and back to the cage around 8pm if that works for everyone...

Ned
Dave and I were talking on the way home that it was cool that you were getting some decent skating time in instead of filming all the time. Good Times.

Re: New York, Long Island Garages
Man, I had a FANTASTIC time last night! I'm always glad when I am able to get someone else excited about slalom -- although I have to admit that "GET THAT GUY" was more of an adrenalin rush.
One of the most amazing things is that it was raining outside and we didn't even realize it!
Also, I hope that I didn't offend anyone with my "old southern guy" impersonation. I have a wacky sense of humor!

Guy's, that was an awesome session last night. I got enough stoke to last me a week. GET THAT GUY was definitely the highlight of the night. James it was good to meet you. I can't get over how you guy's were able to fly through that row of cones. Are there any slalom event's that take place in NY? I would like to see it

Re: New York, Long Island Garages
Unfortunately, there aren't really any NYC "slalom" events to speak of. I usually set up a line of cones at the weekly Friday Night Rip. Every once in a while, someone else will bring a set if cones to the Friday Night Rip so that we can set up two lines of cones and have races!

Likewise!
Are you guys going to be there again this Saturday?
Also, does anyone know of any good places to eat within skating distance?

Might have to make it happen. I think there are a couple of places to eat a couple of blocks away. If we get together lets keep it hush hush. I would hate for LB1 to find out.
Nevermind - we'll just keep it invite only.
Ned - How are you making out with the masonite?

Re: New York, Long Island Garages
Sounds good to me, supposed to be another amazing weekend!!! Would it be possible to hit up some of those neighborhood hills before the cage around 6pm -- especially the longer run where big mike skitched us up the hill before the lady cop shut us down? I liked that road a lot.

Ned, I didn't realize that you had a thing for female police officers!
