Ned, do you have any idea what the possible date will be for the B bomb?
Michael asked if I could call him as soon as I had any information that way he could book travel.
PS Just in case anybody was wondering, he called me the first time to verify subscription info and we started talking because he was curious about New York skating. He is psyched about the race!
Here's the Broadway Bomb thread:

. . . and a question: Back in the 70's the first (and only) park I ever skated was in Farmingdale.
Anybody remember that? Know what happened to it?

I remember Farmingdale. I believe it is covered with dirt and it is used to park tractor trailers. I have to look into this area closer.
The only parking garage I know of in this area is the one in Gle Cove in the middle of town. Me and Dave had skated it once last year. Then we went to " The Devils Back Bone "

Holy Cr*p, I can't even remember the last time I skated with you guys. Hopefully it will be soon! Jim where exactly is this garage and what is the access like?( I'm thinking maybe this Saturday or Sunday night of Labor day weekend, anybody interested?)[/QUOTE
Dude, that really sucks about Ronkonkoma. Years ago they were planning on building a concrete park at Hempstead Harbor park in Port Washington, that was shot down as well.

Stefman, we don't plan sessions out that far ahead so we'll know better what's going on that week. Just keep checking the thread!

Dave you have no idea the state of mind I am in right now. My XBOX 360 just Sh*t the bed.
It came down with the dreaded red ring of death syndrome. If the Incredible Hulk was here right now he'd have an Xbox lodged sideways in his FAT GREEN A$$. Just kidding, Microsoft said I would have it back good as new in three to four weeks. Now, if I could only stop falling off my board every time I go to AC I'd be really happy!!!
So, weekend garage session at night? what do we have in mind? Sat or Sun?
Also it looks like a tentative date of Saturday Oct. 27 for the bomb at 12 noon. I really hope that's it. That's the only weekend I have free.

Re: New York, Long Island Garages
I went to the Hudson River Skatepark today after work to work on my 50-50 grinds in the mini-ramp. I realized this morning that the park was closing for the Summer (only open on the weekends after Labor day), so I got the crazy idea in my head that I was going to learn how to do 50-50 grinds in like 2 hours! I must have tried at least 100 times in a row and I still didn't get them dialed (I swear, I looked like a friggin' f#cktard!). Everyone skating the miniramp was trying their best to help me out. I think that they felt bad for me because I was sweating like a pig and was so worn out that I could barely do a kickturn near the end. I was getting REALLY angry and I actually cursed at the mini-ramp -- which is unusual behavior for me. As you know, I normally try and "be positive" (B+) so as to not mess up anyone else's stoke.
Anyway, I just wanted to share my frustration with you guys. I suppose that this is what happens when you get too serious about your skating!
50-50s look like such an easy trick to do, but for some reason -- they are very difficult for me...

TJ - No stress, I still have it. I'm going to be away Sat - Mon afternoon. If I don't get any skating in this weekend in the Poconos I might be into a Mon night Cage session or go to Tanner for a little while.
Have a good weekend.

Re: New York, Long Island Garages
Has anyone ever been to Oil City Indoor Skatepark in Oceanside?
http://www.oilcitysk8.com/
It looks like it's about 45 minutes on the LIRR and then about a 10 minute skate from Oceanside station to the location.
I'm thinking about checking it out during the Winter!

Re: New York, Long Island Garages
My weekend is becoming pretty busy but right now I might be able to make a Monday night garage session. John, I'm hanging out with some of my wife's college friends Sunday so I won't be able to skate that day A garage session sounds fun though.

James, I hear what you're saying. Kickflips are like that for me sometimes, lack of landing can ruin my session, even though, otherwise, I'm skating great! Just step back don't let that trick rule your session. Times like that I find my self repeating "I skate to relax, not to get stressed out....that's what work is for". BTW, I think Phil has skated Oil City.

Thanks for the support, man!
Anyway, it looks like Oil City has a really nice miniramp based on what I saw from their Website...

There an old set of Sims I had lying around. They don't give the duro, but I'm guessing around 95-97a. You might want to think about purchasing a harder set of wheels, Dave. Your able to maintain speed so much better, especially with the tanker I'm using.
