a car's nearly on you? So what do you do? Something very silly. You freeze. Your life doesn't flash before you, cos you're too %#$&@#' scared to think - you just freeze and pull a stupid face.

Sounds awesome folks. I will be unable to attend - but let me help get the word out here to folks in CT.

Mason, this is right by my house, literally as Ned said, in my backyard. We should talk about it and see if you could stay overnight til the 10th if you really want to go. Ya know?

its a capybara... it was originally crappysurfer2's avatar... but now he is silenced... he can only read the forum and not post... so in remembrance of cs2, many have changed their avatars to the capy

You really don't need leathers, although you might want them for Sibbald. I wear a leather jacket on Sibbald, but I'm a big pussy. Tyler and Roastbeef normally only hit it with pads, if they remember to put on their pads. It is capable of over 40 though. Most of the other hills are in the 30-35mph range. I just got a new GPS, I plan on testing out some of the runs and can tell you guys what the other ones are around exactly, if this rain ever F-in stops. Liberty is defeintly 30-35, we clocked it with the Hot Wheels radar gun. Sibbald is over 40, possibly even 50, that crappy Hot Wheels gun won't pick up a skater going over 35, but we've used a chase car. I plan on clocking the hills by me soon.

And none of this apply's if your just carving or sliding, these are speeds for just straight bombing the hills.

I plan on GPS'ing the Prospect Park hill this Friday also. Jam, are you going? I need someone I can draft and leap frog to get going faster.

HAHAHAHA, Action Ned Jackson will definitely have a camera mount setup to record THAT one!

LB1, I should be wearing leathers just riding the video bike; I almost bailed on my last run following Roastbeef down the hill when I got speed wobbles. I think speedboards properly set up are probably more stable than BMX bikes when you hit 40mph.

Yeah, the last time I was at the RIP, Tyler and I were drafting each other, (more like Tyler would draft me and then I'd play catch up down the rest of the run) but I think that's the only reason why we were able to go that fast.

Ned, that run you took last year on that bike following Beef was insane!! Janky bmx bike, shaking back and forth as your ducking under the handlebars trying to catch up to Beef.

Should I see if I can get my brother in law's mountian bike for this trip?

nah thanks, it's cool, won't need it; i had a good month -- found a mint condition Specialized Rockhopper mountain bike for $60 on Craigslist last week, and my mom is giving me her 10-year old Camry (she just bought a new hybrid to help save the earth) and it has a bike rack. so you won't have to pick me up at the station anymore, sensei!!!

I'm totally in for this. Maybe Stupendous Man/Michael and I will trek out together? Maybe I can get winchest, the fellow speed freak from CT to come? Maybe I'll have to take the train by myself? We shall see.

Just messin' with ya. I think it'd be sweet if we could have 5-10 SFishers all bombing down Sibbald at the same time.

Gotta make sure I am free. Should be plenty of heads up for the wife, so Im feeling it will work out. Sofa, you are always welcome to get a ride. Anybody can get a ride with me if they need/want. Where is our friend Boogaloo? He should be back at school and willing to go.
