Cherry Hill session (in NJ)

as many of you know cherry hill nj used to be home to one of the greatest skateparks ever. many legends like tony alva have thrashed it. but since my town doesn't give a sh!t about skateboarders they tore it down in the 1980's. i live in this shitty town.

well now 20 some odd years later i have discovered many awsome hills in and around cherry hill. one of them is called parnell. parnell is an amazing winding curvey steep road that dumps you onto another steep road. ive been dying to get a session going here and i have to come up with an effective date. it would be neat if the fatboy guys and earthwing guys came too. so yeah....

you set it up, we'll be there... i'm sure MikeD and Jess will come along for some slide action. and i'll see if the long islanders (oldnstoked, longbord1) want to ride out too. make sure to invite the Gentleman's Downhill Longboarders Club (Dr Worm/Crappysurfer2) and they might possibly show up if it's not too far away.

you and your dad should check out Sayreville bowl in jersey one weekend -- i think you'll like it. show up early (9am) so you skate it before the BMX bikes get there.

we should do it on a saturday so we can do the friday nite rip before it. then we can go and skate parnell. but i have a suggestion. if everyone payed about 5 thru 10 dollars to come to the session, all the money goes twoard charity, and if it goes to charity i may even be able to get the township to close down parnell and meaby a few other roads to motor vehicles. only if we have money to give to charity.

I hate to shoot down your dreams there ton, but I'm a douchebag and its my job

5-10 bucks from everyone isn't gonna even come close to getting your town to shut down the road, unless they all live in double wides and can't afford a new crop of chickens this year. And since you live in Jersey, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that ain't the case.

City officals only see $$$$$. So unless it makes them $$$, they ain't even intrested. You need sponsors, coverage, and don't even start on the insurance and liability, NJ is the worst in the country when it comes to that.

Like I said, I hate to stomp your dreams, but I'm just trying to give you a reality check.

If you want any help in setting up an Outlaw event (see, outlaw means F everyone were doing it anyway) the NJDB's will help you out. Just let us know.

If your going to get some thing together it better be soon. We had a session Saturday on the Island and the roads are getting covered with pine cones and leaves etc. Then comes the sand. I'll try to get some guys together if you set something up or if you guys want to come to the Island let me know.

your right sensei it would be very difficult to get the road closed. for those of you who have done the broadway bomb this will be easy. the biggest propblem is at the bottom it dumps you into a t jucntion. w/e we're still gonna do it.

oldnstoked is also right. yesterday i was bombin a hill and i was turning. as i turned i ran over some wet leaves and the board shot out from under me and i fell on me arse. the more people the better also. im doing the hill in about a half hour because its the best time of the week to do it. alot of people in the neighborhood go to church from 8 to 12 so there will be less traffic. so ill try to film it and ill let you guys know how it is

Hey guys, sorry this is somewhat unrelated but I figured this would be a good place to get the word out to other people.

Alright...the NOVA BOMBERS (NOrthern VirginiA) are hosting another event. This time its the fall outlaw race at beacon hill on novemebr 18. We've already gotten comitments from skaters in NYC, Philly, and NOVA so it should be a great race. if you're interested go to the thread in the events forum for "northern virginia fall outlaw downhill race" and let us know. The hill is about 40mph give or take and full faces and pads are required...leathers are recommended. There's no entry fee though so bring anyone who's interested
