Ian Nichols (Broadway Bomb/Central Park Race organizer) just posted a snowboarding event for next month in Central Park;
I might drop by to watch and bring my longboard if weather is nice.

Theres a Snowboard event called the Central Park Winter Jam coming up in February. I signed up even though Im no good at half pipes. I'm gonna bring by longboard too and maybe if theres no snow on then ground go skate.

i heard last year it was weird... real nice weather that week if i recall.
this year i might just go check it out if some of the crew want to go. im not snowboarding, but i think it would be cool to see.

hey shapeshifter, this isn't the Central Park race, if that's what you're thinking. This is a snowboard halfpipe in Central Park. not sure if there's any confusion in that first post.

yeah, sounds like it's just a halfpipe in the middle of Central Park.
I have no idea how many people show up.

I checked the video on their site....and there seemed to be a crapload of people....but all I saw was a launch rampand jump....not pipe...but yeah.

If weather gets better (ie, no snow/ice/rain), does anyone want to take some laps around Central Park next Saturday? Then hit up Brooklyn Banks, or Prospect Park for slides.

Perhaps the Pennsylvania Longboard Gentleman's Club would like to join us.
