Continuing the East Coast search,
I've found some sexy spots near Walton, NY and Woodstock, NY (Catskills) that are a 2 1/2 to 4 hour drive from New York City, Philadelphia and Connecticut -- with ample camping in wilderness areas and/or campgrounds. The incredible thing about these particular roads (especially along route 206 and route 30) is the sheer length of the runs (5-25 miles) with what must be crazy elevations. Not sure about pavement conditions or traffic, but it's in the middle of nowhere and a few of these must be pretty solid. I've camped out in wilderness area around Big Indian and Phoenicia and it's beautiful there.
Early May, perhaps, for the Northeast NY/CT crews or anyone else willing to travel???
Alex, we may need to do a test drive up there even sooner. It's only about 2 hours from Fairfield.
i was just up there last weekend trying to locate the entrance to these old underground tunnels that i used to skate when i had my place up in purchase... it was fun tooling around the high security areas in the dark with only the light of the gps to guide me.

oh man, did you find/skate those tunnels in the dark? that'd be insane.
I just found this in Wikipedia: Skateboarding has a unique presence at Purchase College due to its brick covered campus. The underground tunnels that connect the campus have smooth concrete and ramps. The campus has banned skateboarding on the mall and access to the tunnels is for the most part prohibited, making things difficult for the campus' skateboarding community.
Connor/Alex/Alex -- let's plan a day trip soon, maybe in the next few weekends.
me and some friends are gonna be skating up in Amsterdam NY, the end of march by gore mountain
who are you going with?

Yeah, if you guys plan this pleeeassse try to aim for late may (like the 20th or later), so that school will be out, and scheduling will be easy. Looks killer though.
