It is in the road. lol

It's going to be the most traffic anyone has ever skated through, but if you are in a group of other longboarders, the road gets dominated and it becomes easy. If you are on your own or with just like 2-3 other people, it will be super gnarly.

That sounds kind of sh!tty.. Some one else said there are up hills? WTF? I like riding in traffic, and I like ridding with a group of people, but I'm not really into ridding up hills.. Anybody got any good footage on the race I could see? Even though I might have to ride up hill, Im still down to travel out there.. When are we going to know when its going to be? (set dates), so I can see about air plane tickets...

yo GRIMACE, lean and mean!!! hellz yeah, can't wait to see you at the bomb this fall. i better start training now! we'll make sure to drive you out to some nice DH hills AND a kickass new skate park in Connecticut with snake run and bowl while you're here. so plan for a few extra days. we wish you'd been here for the Central Park Race after-party too; you missed a legendary time!

yep, totally. it's a sh!tfest. the race is basically a flat run overall with some slight downhill and some slight incline at various sections, running from northern Central Park through Times Square all the way to the Wall Street Bull. It's similar to running a 10K race, but on a longboard dodging cabs, getting tackled by cops, nailing pedestrians in crosswalks, running into potholes, etc. -- an amazing yet brutal run. some of us get to skate in NYC traffic every day, but nothing like this; by far the most insane race of the year. but it's not for wimps, especially if you're prone to blisters or leg cramps or getting hit by cars.

Last year Sector 9 even threw cash winnings into the mix, plus mad schwag from tons of sponsors.

it's everything but shitty and like i said a just a few posts ago there is no date confirmed yet. and it's ALL UP HILL thats how we do in NYC we just skate up hill all the time. we race up hill, we slide up hill, and if you haven't figured out my sarcasm by now...

It's a sprint race, not a downhill race; but as far as sprint races go, this one is amazing.

It is amazing, and since this will be the 2nd one I'll be attending I am much more confident and will be trying my hardest to race this year, no skating like 12 hours the day before. The traffic is bad but after my learning experience last year I am ready to thrash NYC.

this year will be my first time doing the race. whenever i hear about it i'm pins and needles. i'm used to skating inthe city. thank god skitching is forbidden cause first of all i'm terrified of being checked by the car 2nd i know others will do it. what time of the day is the race? rushhour? New York has some of the most fantastic and polite drivers and pedestrians. so be aware.
