Re: Braodway Bomb 2007
I'm pumped! Last year was crazy and no doubt there will be even more people this year!
I hope the beginning is more organized though. Last time we sat around for 40 minutes trying to look inconspicuous waiting for it to start.
It's by far the craziest race i've been too. Skaters taking over the roads for as far as the eye can see...at least in the beginning then everyone spreads out. You should see the look on peoples faces

This years Broadway Bomb is going to be scary big. We are going to have cash and prizes by Sector Nine and prizes from Gravity, Shut, Randal, Seismic and Concrete Wave. Most likely the day will be Saturday, October 27th at 12 noon. We meet at the park at Riverside Drive and 116th St. We will ride though traffic to Bowling Green. The After party isn't quite worked out yet I'm pretty sure we'll go to the park on the East River, under the Willamsburg Bridge.
more later.....

Re: Braodway Bomb 2007
Oh yeah,
if anyone wants a good clean hotel thats downtown, check out the woogo apartments. Thats where I stayed last year. They have rooms with double beds and pull out couches, with a kutchenette.

Haha, no doubt. I'll start training... I'm actually starting to enjoy riding DOWN hills now that I learned to footbrake and safety slide, so we'll take you out to Connecticut near Rabid Skunk's 'hood for some actual gravity-based fast runs. Plan to make a stop off at the new Stamford bowl -- it's a great park. And let's definitely have the Costume Rip again; that was my favorite part of the whole weekend last year -- Rabbits and Penguins and Pirates cruising Times Square, and Grimace getting tackled by a cop who thought the plastic sword was a dangerous weapon. CLASSIC!
I'll plan to set up a tent community in our backyard for anyone who needs a free place to crash. It's not luxurious, but the Canadians will make sure you're filled with all the beer you can drink.
Can't wait till October.

Re: Braodway Bomb 2007
Can we not start down at Riverside this time? Why not start at Columbia?
http://www.columbia.edu/about_columbia/map/index.html

There's a huge staircase on which we can chill while we collect people. Nobody's going to care. I went there, so I can talk to people if need really be. But I doubt there'd be a problem. That way we don't have to skate up that damn hill first. That killed me last year.

Yeah. Last year worked out perfectly. It got cold like the day after everybody left. But, maybe we'll get a longer Fall this year.

Re: Braodway Bomb 2007
Skating in the cold is what the east coast does.
Throw some plywood on a big pile of snow and you've got an instant jump ramp. Oh, the memories.
I'm totally psyched for this.
